olympic glory
Keith and I are officially Olympic junkies. Aside from a few workouts and a trip to the dog park we have had our butts parked on the couch watching all the Olympic glory.
We are in HEAVEN!
Without a doubt my favorite sport is Track and Field. That is probably because I was a track athlete and I know all the rules and can relate to the lingo and the sport.
But my favorite female athletes are beach volleyball players Misty May-Treanor and Keri Walsh-Jennings. The professional volleyball tour came to Austin when Keith and I first started dating (2006) and we got to see them in person. It was very very cool! My favorite male athlete is, hands down, Michael Phelps!
Yesterday morning I was up early watching the NBC coverage while sipping on coffee. It was quiet (as Keith and Bella were still asleep) and I enjoyed my lazy morning as the world came to life.
There was lots of snacking on healthy Olympic worthy food. I felt like channeling my inner athlete with healthy eats!
I also said about 5,000 times, “I want to move to London!” I had the good fortune to visit London last October with my mama and I fell smack in love with that city. So seeing all the London sites makes me itching to go back! Like yesterday.
Did anyone catch the female volleyball player named Destinee Hooker? What were her parents thinking? Really.
I plan to soak up as much Olympic coverage as I can. I am staying off Twitter as much as possible to avoid seeing who won what events with the time delay and air times. I am invested. Like completely invested.
Are you an Olympic fan?
Favorite sport to watch?
Favorite Athletes?
Track and field and swimming are my favorite. However, we were all out at the bars on saturday night and just could not stop watching men’s gymnastics. They are insane!
Track and field and swimming are totally my favorite! But we watched the men’s gymnastics while out at the bars on saturday. Those guys are nuts!
I love diving for the same reason…I was on the diving team in college and I understand it all! Plus, they are just amazing athletes.
Oh, and I haven’t watched any olympics because we don’t have TV. I need to go make good friends with my neighbors and park my butt on their couch. I’ll even bring them healthy snacks. 🙂 Wish YOU were my neighbor.
You don’t have a TV? This makes me love you even more!!! 🙂
Haha…don’t hate me, Kelly, but the only Olympics event I really watch is the women’s gymnastics. LOVE them.
I’m loving the Olympics…gymnastics, swimming (hello, Ryan Lochte!), and all of the running are my favorites to watch : )
lol I saw that volleyball player on Saturday haha!! My good friend’s mom’s maiden name is Hooker… Marsha Hooker was her name lol! How unfortunaute… Anyway, I totally ruined the 4*100 men’s swimming relay last night while trying to show my friend a picture of the hottie tot Ryan Lochte lol! That’s what I get. They were just about to start the relay and I googled his name and the first thing says, “Lochte comes up short as anchor” and I’m like, CRAP!
Our TV didn’t change from Olympics coverage at all this weekend, with the exception of ESPN highlights of the untelevised Sox/Yanks game & then the game last night. And last night’s game was only watched on commercials because gymnastics was on.
Lovelovelove women’s gymnastics, since I was younger, and since becoming a runner I have a newfound appreciation for T&F. Can’t wait for those events to get started up, makes me wanna get out there and RUN FAST!! 🙂
I’m not a huge Olympics fan but Andy is. I love the gymnastics but that’s about the only thing that can capture my attention.
I love the beach volleyball!! That and the gymnastics is my favorite!
*are. I know English, really I do 😉
OMGosh I love the beach volleyball, they’re one of my favs too. Love the gymnastics, love it all too! Have never been to London, but is on my bucket list! Lol! Miss your face!! ❤
Swimming, Gymnastics, Beach & Court Volleyball, Basketball! haha. You forgot to mention the AMAZING friday night you had! 🙂
xoxoxo
I stayed off twitter yesterday after 10am just so I could watch women’s gymnastics with out knowing what happened. It was surprisingly kind-of nice to be COMPLETELY disconnected!!
