January 13, 2012

Earlier this week my friend, Allena, did a cute “Good News….Bad News Post” and I thought it was a cute idea. So here we go:

Good News: Our December Electric Bill was only $57

Bad News: We were only here for half the month in December

Good News: I love my K-swiss K-Ona shoes more than any shoe I have owned

Bad News: I have worn them so much I super glued the bottom back on

Good News: Keith and I know some friends who will be on HGTV House Hunters next week

Bad News: It is House Hunters International because they moved to London

Good News: We got our annual Costco reward certificate back for $140

Bad News: Our annual membership is due and costs $110

Good News: I am 50% finished with my January bookclub book

Bad News: I am 50% finished with my January bookclub book (it is sooo good I don’t want it to end!)

Good News: I started my period which means I have had 2 successful cycles since my miscarriage and we can officially start trying again!

Bad News: I am on my period….blech!

Good News: I really like the new show The Firm

Bad News: That is one more show I have to find time for each week

Good News: I made the decision to stop reading blogs that make me feel bad about myself just because they are popular

Bad News: I might miss out on some good recipes or workouts (ha….but really I think I’ll live 🙂

Good News: It’s Friday

Bad News: It’s Friday the 13th!

Happy Friday! And give me your own Good News/Bad News tidbit!

Why is electric so expensive…and costco membership?! What day is your friend on house hunters, I love that show, I’ll have to record it! Happy Friday…the 13th! 🙂

The only good thing about our Costco membership is that we usually get between $130-$150 back each year from them (based on what we buy throughout the year) and our premium membership is only $110 so really Costco pays us $40 to shop there! That’s how I look at it! 🙂

Oh and our friends are Freddy and Claudia Stephenson and they will be on (supposed to be) January 19th!

Those are the best books– the ones you don’t want to end 🙂

YAY for trying again!!! I’m thinking about y’all (that sounds kind of weird to say, but you know what I mean 😉 ).

This is great! I started reading your blog a few weeks ago and LOVE IT!

Mine is…Good news: I get to train for another marathon Bad news: training starts next week and i am burnt out on running

I have those K-Swiss shoes as well. The bottom came off after about a month. I bought another pair and the same thing happened–K-Swiss kindly sent me a new pair, but the same thing happened. I never thought of just gluing it back together…you are so resourceful;-)

So stoked about your period! That’s so weird to say. 😉

  5. January 13, 2012 9:09 am

    1. what book are you reading??
    2. i also did a google reader clean up for the new year. i was reading too many of the “big” blogs even though the writers annoyed the heck out of me. no need for that in my life. in case you’re wondering, you made the cut 😉

HAHA! Thanks! I am honored! 🙂

Okay the book I am reading is called The Kitchen House by Kathleen Gissom. It is AMAZING!!! Seriously you have to read it!

  6. January 13, 2012 9:42 am

I have a good book I’m reading, too! It’s called “Same Kind of Different As Me” – I can’t even wait for the chance to read it today.

Also…yay for babymaking! You guys are in my prayers!

  7. January 13, 2012 9:48 am

Good news, I bought new clothes. Bad news, I spent too much money, haha. Yay for being able to start trying again!

  8. January 13, 2012 9:49 am

hahaha, I loved this style of post!

  9. January 13, 2012 10:15 am

I love that I literally laugh out loud reading your blog. Shout out to the crimson wave (I’m not weird at all).

  10. January 13, 2012 10:17 am

Love the post. Yay for trying again. I know how you feel about people reading your blog. My blog is not popular. I don’t think anyone reads it.

  11. January 13, 2012 11:11 am

That’s great that you’re about to start trying again. I’m rooting for you! Isn’t it weird being happy about your period? I just went off the pill in July and it took me until December to get my period, and I was ecstatic when it actually came. TMI probably. 🙂

    • January 13, 2012 11:30 am

I always laugh and say the irony if it all is what kills me. I remember a time when I so scared I wouldn’t start my period and now….well….you know.

  12. January 13, 2012 1:31 pm

I just recently cleaned out a bunch of blogs in my reader too. I feel lighter.
Good news: I had a delicious vegetable panini for lunch today.
Bad news: I want to take a nap and I have to workout after work since I used my lunch break for eating wonderful food.

    Good luck girl!

I’ve stopped following a lot of those blogs because they weren’t doing it for me. Much prefer reading blogs of people I have a real connection with.

And glad to hear you can start trying again. Although periods are never fun.

    • January 13, 2012 5:10 pm

Exactly! And of course I didn’t mean your blog! 🙂

  14. January 13, 2012 3:19 pm

There are a lot of popular blogs that I don’t bother reading. I keep some in my reader just in case there’s a good recipe, but I don’t read them otherwise.

  15. January 13, 2012 4:14 pm

My friends’ house was just on “My First Place” on HGTV! The guy didn’t pick the house. My friends closed on the house a few weeks later… lol

  16. January 13, 2012 4:17 pm

I loved this Kelly! I’m SO with you on the blog reading thing. There are so many that I was reading that just did NOTHING for me, or even made me feel bad about myself. Yuck! It was time for a blog clean out- yours definitely made the cut- I always love reading yours, even if I don’t always comment, if always brightens my day 🙂

  17. January 14, 2012 9:23 am

Isn’t it freeing to stop reading certain blogs. At times I have this ‘a-ha’ moment where I’m like ‘wait, I can choose not to read this…’ What can I say? I’m a bit dense at times. 🙂 I feel a little power when I click ‘unsubscribe.’

Do you watch Revenge? It’s the only show I’m following this season, but I’m hooked. The rest of our DVR is PBS Kids shows. In the good news department, I’m well versed on my shapes, colors and letter sounds because of it. 🙂

  18. January 14, 2012 9:59 am

I’ve got so many of your posts to catch up on! I’ve been MIA for almost a month!! 🙂

Hope you had a wonderful holiday! Happy new year!

And as for your electric bill, i’m soooo incredibly jealous. Our bill for November/December was almost 500$!!!

  19. January 15, 2012 3:33 am

yay for period! bad for cramps. But hey, it could be worse, right?
oh and i think i know where i can get you another pair of K-ona’s…..just a thought. hehe.

Good news: I had a three day weekend
Bad news: I was sick the entire time….booo!
