grumpster in the house

Yesterday I was grumpy. Like really really grumpy. So grumpy in fact that I think Keith was this close (she holds her thumb and first finger barely apart) to sleeping outside with the chickens. (I am kidding but I think in a personality contest the chickens would have beat me by a long shot yesterday) I can’t even tell you exactly what is was but more like what is wasn’t! It was just one of those days that so many little things went wrong that it added up to a grumpy Kelly.
- I swear I developed restless leg syndrome and couldn’t stop twitching all night! It was like my legs kept saying, “move me!” So irritating.
- I realized at 6:30am that my library book was due back the day before #FAIL
- I found out Tom Cruise is going to be playing Jack Reacher in the upcoming movie One Shot. Believe me this has got to be the worst casting decision of all time. Such a bummer!
- We switched our cable plan and now we get NO channels. Oh wait that’s not true we get 150 channels that I would never in a million years think to watch. Wonderful.
- I completed 2 full lessons for my teacher certification (about 3 hours of my time) and then the system locked up and didn’t record any of my test scores.
- All through my morning workout I could only think about coffee only to discover we were completely out when I went to make some.
- I grabbed a hard-boiled egg from the fridge only to discover it wasn’t hard-boiled when I went to peel it. Now I don’t know how you peel a hard-boiled egg but I pretty much smash it onto the counter first to breakup the shell. Yeah….
- At 12:00 I was eating tuna sandwich as I remembered my dentist appointment at 12:30. I feel like I should call my dentist back today and apologize for the tuna decision.
- I misread the surprise party invitation I got and called my friend (the one getting the surprise) asking if she needed me to bring anything to the party. #double fail
- I am finding new gray hairs every morning! Grrrr….I am waging war on my head! It is times like this when I wish my hair wasn’t so stinking dark!
Okay but I can honestly say that after typing out that list of my “horrible day” it really doesn’t seem that bad. It could be a lot worse. I know that. But sometimes a little venting about a day that seemed to have a lot of minor speedbumps does help.

Haha oh I have days like that. Actually by the end of the night yesterday, with how tired I was, I think I was exactly like that! I’m a firm believer that sometimes you just gotta grump around for a while and get it out of your system 🙂
It COULD be a lot worse but there were plenty of things in there that would piss anyone off. Everyone is allowed a day is be grumpy!!
Dude. It was a Tuesday. These things happen.
And I HATE waking up in the middle of the night or realizing at a point where you can’t do anything about it that something is due or late. Been there. Way too often!
Ohhhh boy! I hate having days like that! I always say that I know my life could be worse and I know there are people that have worse days than me…but sometimes all of those little things just add up and it feels like the end of the world!

Vent away. Sounds like a rough day – hope today is better! I like to think of paying library fines as a way to donate money to the library, which is actually a very good cause. At least that’s what I tell myself.
Kelly that all sucks!!! I cringed at the hard boiled egg part because I’ve been there! Yikes. I hope you are able to laugh at some of that soon.
Hate Tom Cruise! Don’t know what that movie is, but I can hardly watch anything he’s in anymore. He lost it after Top Gun, Coctail, and A Few Good Men. The coffee thing would have had me in fits, but it would been an excuse to spend money for a professional made latte. And the egg thing…sorry, but that’s funny 🙂 I wouldn’t have thought it was funny if it happened to me, though, so I can see that contributing to a bad day. Hope today is bettter!
It could have been worse yes, but those things would make me crazy too. Especially the egg debacle. I hate when things like that happen. If it helps at all, once I tried to hard boil an egg in the microwave. Like, I put a whole egg into a bowl of water, and then put it in the microwave. All of a sudden there was a big KABOOM, water pouring out the bottom of the microwave, and egg bits everywhere. My mom still makes fun of me for it.
So I loved the beginning of your post, about Keith choosing to sleep with the chickens- haha! 🙂 I’m sorry your day was so bad 😦
Sounds like it just started out on the complete wrong foot.
I HATE Tom Cruise too. Ugh. He’s so …I don’t even know….sucky?! Can’t act?! Head stuck up his rear end?! …all of the above.
Sometimes you just have one of those days. I’m glad your husband didn’t disturb the chickens having their sleep anyway
I always say that Tuesdays suck. I’m sorry you have a grouchy day but I think we all “need” one of those once in a while.
Okay so none of those things happened to me buuuut I was in a terrible mood on Tuesday, too. I don’t know why.
Oh no!! I’m sorry!! The friend’s surprise birthday…ek! I would be upset at myself, too…BUT it happens!! I was in a terrible mood one day last week and I just told hubby to STEER CLEAR 😉 Hope today is better!!!
aw if it makes you feel any better (which I’m sure you do by now! ) our coffee pot broke so I had no morning coffee for two days! boo!
oh kelly, I’m sorry. That is one heck of a day, and totally been there. Sheesh! The coffee is the worst. I HATE THAT!. We must get our coffee fix.
I hope today was 10x better. I would have sent you carnations if I’d known. hehe.
Haha – that is quite a list. The surprise party thing was the roughest on the list. No way to play that one off right? And the tuna at the dentist b/c I just went – I am sure you were forgiven. Hope things have gone a little smoother since this post. Glad you are blogging again!! 🙂
I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who gets a ‘Case of the Mondays’ mid-week.
I’m also glad to know I’m not the only one to ruin a surprise party with my inattention, nothing makes you feel like committing social suicide quite like that! Lol, but it rolls off quickly.
