what A weekend

August 6, 2012

Goodness. It was a weekend. We were busy but fortunately I still had time to enjoy myself.

On Saturday, Keith and I went rock climbing at a local rock gym. It was both of our first times and it was really fun but a lot more challenging than either of us anticipated. Props to all you rock climbers out there!!

We also celebrated my Mama’s birthday (a few days early) at a fancy shamcy restaurant. I got to get all gussied up with my lovah! I also got to eat a fancy meal. Duck anyone?

We had a slight mishap with Keith’s car. It died. Like started smoking and died. We knew it was coming but it went out with a much bigger bang than either of us expected. Oh Infiniti, you lived a good life but I think it is time we moved on. So we went and looked at cars this weekend which was surprisingly fun! I think we may have found something to test drive this week. Thankfully my Dad has more than one vehicle and it letting us borrow. That helps us not feel so rushed and allows us to make a smart decision we are both comfortable with. #Score.

I woke up Sunday morning pretty much determined to eat pancakes. Enter: Pamela’s Gluten Free Pancake Mix. Oh my heart. We love that stuff. How perfect do these look? I assure you they tasted just as perfect. (Hint: make them with coconut oil. Trust me)

Of course lots of Olympic watching took place. That is a given. It is like you can see any sport you want at any time! We watched a lot of volleyball and a lot of track. Couldn’t ask for more in my opinion. Twas perfecto!

I got my day started this morning with body combat (favorite class evvvvver) and a nice half hour walk with my Bella girl. Now I am heading out for a training all day. I hope everyone has a great Monday. Catch you laters!

What was the highlight of your weekend?

I’ve never rock-climbed– on a climbing wall or (god forbid) on an actual mountain. It totally intimidates me!!! Glad you had a good weekend, girl!

What a fun time, I don’t think I’d be a good rock climber. HB to your Mom! My highlight is that my sister is visiting! Sorry about your car 😦

Totally! I feel like on some small (and by small I mean teeny tiny) have an idea of what they are feeling. Love it!

GAH car shopping is the worst! i’m glad you guys enjoyed it though! i remember we were in a mad rush to get 2 new-to-us cars before we had Wes and i was totally that bitchy preggo woman to the salesmen. i feel kind of bad about it now, but at the time they really should have known better than to be annoying 🙂

I haven’t rock climbed since my girl scout days–but I agree it’s a tough workout!

I woke up on Saturday with my mind set on pancakes! Actually, I was thinking about them the night before 🙂 Something about pancakes on the weekend is so perfect.

We are pretty regular about Pancake Sundays. It is just a little tradition we have going.

Spending the weekend with our friends on their boat was the best! I didn’t want the weekend to end!

I love rock climbing! Its something I used to do all the time, but haven’t for years now. It’s so much fun!

    PANCAKES.
Seriously- I have no idea why I’ve neglected to make them recently. I love them. As seen by my taking down an entire stack while out for brunch on Sunday.
And yes- I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do when the olympics are over. They’re all I’ve been watching!

This weekend: 40 mile bike ride & crash and burn during it. Still recovering from road rash (ouch!) yet can’t wait to get back out and try for 50 miles. Rock climbing scares me. I don’t think I could do it until I weighed a lot less.

Those are some beautiful pancakes! I mean seriously fluffy!!! That climbing wall looks tough!!!
