bachelor talk

February 1, 2012

**I am going to be talking about The Bachelor and while I don’t think I am giving anything away for those who haven’t seen this week’s episode I wanted to give fair warning.**

Who is watching The Bachelor? I am not ashamed to admit that I definitely am. And so is Keith. We watch it together. I am sure he not to pleased that I just shared that little nugget of information about him on the internet. 😉

Anyway…Ben, The Bachelor.

First let’s talk about Courtney. She is this season’s drama queen and boy is she DRAMA. She is crazy although she does have some good one liners. Like when talking about Blakely, “who knew strippers could play baseball?” Best line ever.  I have to wonder if Ben really does choose her, he has to be horrified seeing this footage right now. Right? And can I just say the skinny dipping in the complete nude with her was tacky. I lost what little respect I did have for Ben in that minute.

I happen to really like Kasie B. She seems like she is down to earth and above all the girl drama for now. She seems confident and her Tennessee accent is cute!

Nicki drives me crazy. I know I need to support my Texas girl but eh…she doesn’t do it for me. Each week she gets a rose I am surprised.

And Ms. VIP Cocktail Waitress, Blakely. Sorry no. Just no.

And did everyone hear that Emily is going to be the new bachelorette??! Is anyone surprised by this? I was! I now think she is in it just for the publicity. Especially since she kept an online blog and dairy during Ashley’s season giving her “expert opinion”….please that girl is all about fame.

Oh well. The Bachelor/Bachelorette are so fun because they are all such train wrecks. I mean really…you are going to date a guy along with 15 other women, find a connection, fall in love, get engaged in 8 weeks on national television. Riiiiiight.

But I still watch anyway!

I’d fall in love with an ogre if he took me on a new vacation every week. I have to seriously suspend disbelief that any long-lasting, grounded relationship could survive this process, but it is delicious fun to watch. If that Courtney girl twitches her mouth one more time though, I’m gonna hit the roof. I’m Team Casey B too.

LOVE these shows. But wasn’t planning on watching this season b/c Ben – blah! Then I kept hearing how crazy the girls were & luckily still had all the episodes on the dvr. Can’t believe he sent Jennifer home this last time over some of those other girls who Zi’ve never even seen him talk to!

Ha! I know Ben doesn’t really do it for me either. I don’t find him attractive at all!

I feel like this season has been a bit of a downer…the girls are all pretty “meh” to me (I kind of like Lindzi and Casie B, but even the two of them aren’t thrilling me), Ben isn’t a great Bachelor, and the drama feels especially fake this season, for some reason. I WISH that they would pick a new person, instead of digging back into previous contestants EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I think some new blood would be good for the show– and would give them better options for who to choose from!! I’m not at all surprised about the Emily news– I think she was waiting for this from the moment she was on Brad’s season 🙂

It’s like a train wreck I can’t look away from.
And don’t even get me started on Bachelor Pad… looveessit.

Ha ha… What Jess said above- this is why I can’t start watching! I know it’s a train wreck that would become a guilty pleasure…

I agree with everything you said! Kacie B is my favorite of the bunch but I think she’s better off without Ben. He’s lost a lot for me this season and especially with the skinny dipping thing! It will be interesting to see Emily as the Bachelorette. I’m so surprised she’s the next one.

Too bad we can’t live close enough to make Bachelor nights date nights. 😉

Tony and I totally watch it every week (yeah, I haven’t commented in ages, but you mention the bachelor and I have to pipe up).

I couldn’t agree more with everything you’ve said! I was bummed he cut Jennifer – thought she was cute and real, but it’s all a show, so who knows!

We only started watching this stuff last season (with Ashley) so I don’t know of this Emily girl at all, aside from the fact that her name was mentioned like 20 times an episode.

Kelly I completely agree with everything you said! Love Kasie! Super sweet! I too hope Ben is like really..this is who I chose? She is SO much different than Ashley (whom he proposed to) so I don’t get his polar opposite picking! I was not shocked that Emily was picked but im SOOO tired of repeat bachelor people! I also think its quite hypocritical because after she and Brad broke up she didn’t want all the paparazzi around to protect her daughter..hello? You’re now going to be the bachelorette? Anyways I love reading your blogs!!

I love Kacie too and Lindzi’s my bracket winner so i have to cheer her on. Tho I’ve heard spoilers about Courtney and i’m not liking them one bit. I really hate Ben more each episode! This should be called the Bachelorette because Courtney’s calling all the shots and he’s just letting her manipulate. Oh man but that’s why we love the show right? Love to hate it? lol.
I am excited about Emily. I’m not sure if i think its for publicity because she has apparently declined them for the last 2 years. I read they wanted her instead of Ashley originally. Finally she caved as long as they film in her home town, and a bunch of other things she requested. Like having the show set up a bit differently too, so she’s more comfortable and not publicly humiliated like every one else tends to… so we shall see what comes of it!

If it’s true that Ben chooses Courtney, then it will prove what I’ve suspected all along— the most important thing for a man is his sexual attraction to a woman. Courtney seems self absorbed and I would worry if was Ben, to watch last night’s episode and hear my fiance state that she “never forgives and forgets.” Yikes! You have to do a lot of that in marriage if you don’t want a bitter hateful relationship or end up divorced. I read that Courtney’s ex-boyfriend of 7 years thought she was a great girlfirend, though. If Courtney can maintain a steamy sensual relationship with Ben for the long haul, he probably won’t care how she treats other people or handles confrontation in other areas of her life. At least that’s how he’s starting to appear to me.
