pray

September 5, 2011

Please pray for Central Texas right now. Austin and surrounding areas are engulfed in flames. Steiner Ranch where my husband and I work in on fire and our business and many of our friends homes are in severe danger. To those people who have already lost their homes this is devastating. This is the scene from last night as people evacuated and left their homes.

Please please pray for us.

Confession: I am not digging Dexter. We’ve almost finished season 1 and it just isn’t working for me.

Tell me it is going to get better!

addictions come in all forms

September 1, 2011

Good morning! It’s Thursday!

Wait first I would  like to say the three readers who found my blog yesterday with the following searches:

What happens if I sleep in the same clothes all week?

Kelly Kelly cellulite free

If a random chicken lays an egg in my front yard should I eat it?

I hope you found what you needed. If you didn’t let me help.

First, if you sleep in the same clothes all week I don’t think anything will happen to you. You might stink but you’ll live.

Second, I am not cellulite free but if you (dear reader) happen to find a way to make me so I am all ears. ALL EARS.

And Last, how about you try it and report back with any issues. Deal?

I would also like to invite the reader [er..searcher] who found my blog with Peyton Manning Mr. Peanut Head to kindly not come to my blog again. Talking about my boy like that just will not do. Do you hear me? Good.

Okay, where were we?

Oh yes. I was saying good morning.

Do you know what makes me happy in the morning? Breakfast.

Best. Meal. Of. The. Day.

So good in fact that I usually start getting excited about breakfast as soon as dinner finishes the night before.

Wait, you don’t do that too? You totally should.

Having a delicious breakfast in the morning just starts my day right.

Especially when I have been eating these like CRAZY. I might have a small addiction.

I even made these for Keith and he was smitten. How’s that for a banging Thursday morning breakfast?

Just go do it. I’ve posted this early enough.

I added chia seeds and pumpkin pie spice to them too. Just saying…in case you need even more encouragement.

What’s your favorite meal of the day?

such a mess

August 31, 2011

In the last two days I have made banana bead, kale chips, lasagna and turkey enchilada casserole.

All for me and Keith.

So if for some reason life as we know it comes to a screeching halt…I’ve got us covered.

Whew. I am so relieved.

Okay so on a completely random side note but whenever I see the word relieved it immediately brings to mind one childhood memory. I was just learning to read and was reading to anyone who would give me their ear. It was Passover and a large group of family and friends were gathered for the Seder.

The setup was everyone was going around the long table and taking turns reading the Passover story out loud. I was so excited. I was going to be making my reading debut. It was finally my turn and I came to the sentence, “And God revealed himself to the Israelites.” I proudly read, “and God relieved himself on the Israelites.” The entire table howled with laughter.

First Seder reading fail. ha! At least it’s funny now.

Do you know what else is funny now?

The fact that with all that yummy food I have in my house all I wanted was oatmeal for dinner.

Or that Keith wanted a chicken rice bowl.

We are such a mess.

Tell me what “makes you a mess” today?
