such a mess

August 31, 2011

In the last two days I have made banana bead, kale chips, lasagna and turkey enchilada casserole.

All for me and Keith.

So if for some reason life as we know it comes to a screeching halt…I’ve got us covered.

Whew. I am so relieved.

Okay so on a completely random side note but whenever I see the word relieved it immediately brings to mind one childhood memory. I was just learning to read and was reading to anyone who would give me their ear. It was Passover and a large group of family and friends were gathered for the Seder.

The setup was everyone was going around the long table and taking turns reading the Passover story out loud. I was so excited. I was going to be making my reading debut. It was finally my turn and I came to the sentence, “And God revealed himself to the Israelites.” I proudly read, “and God relieved himself on the Israelites.” The entire table howled with laughter.

First Seder reading fail. ha! At least it’s funny now.

Do you know what else is funny now?

The fact that with all that yummy food I have in my house all I wanted was oatmeal for dinner.

Or that Keith wanted a chicken rice bowl.

We are such a mess.

Tell me what “makes you a mess” today?

what makes me a mess is I’ve been living between my apartment and my mom’s house because we are on the verge of moving. I keep bringing things there and now I’m fully living out of a suitcase. good news is we are moving this weekend!

Oh geez… work has been making me a mess! I’ve been doing another girl’s job while she’s on maternity leave (grrrr), and everything I try to get done always gets pushed to another day because of all the random things that always pop up! Ugh.

oatmeal is perfect for any time of day!

what makes me a mess is my long run this past weekend. I am still feeling it, 3 days later 😦

Getting to bed late has made me a mess today! I left later than usual and traffic was a disaster getting in. You can tell it’s the first week of school!

So many things, but I’ll go with having to present to a group this morning at 7:30 about something they couldn’t care less about and not having anyone laugh at my jokes… and I’m FUNNY! Maybe I’m only funny in the afternoon…

Love the Passover story 🙂 hilarious. Hmm what makes me a mess today? I’m dying to go to the gym but I have no clean gym clothes and I have to go use the washers & dryers at my school because I’m too cheap to pay for laundry at my apartment. Guess I’m taking a forced day off!

I’m dying laughing!! My sister said bitter Herbs (with the H sound) one passover and we lost it. Not so funny but at the time we just wanted to eat. We haven’t had a real seder since! I’m a mess because I am trying to do 100 random things at once. Having a job, teaching, and the blog really makes my adhd go adhd :)!

This past year we got smart and had bowls of trail mix all around the table to we could eat during the Seder…that waiting stuff is the worst! But at least there is wine! 😉

Haha, that was like on Monday, I did all this food prep for the week and ate cool ranch doritos for dinner. My relationship has me a mess lately, I hate the LD part… waaaah.

Such a cute story, it made my day

That reading story is hilarious! But if it were me I would have been mortified — it took me a long time to be able to laugh at myself when I make mistakes.

I remember reading aloud once in 4th grade and I read ‘they broke out in applause’ as ‘they broke out in applesauce.’

We’ve eaten almost a whole canister of oatmeal this week. I think the heat is burning away my desire to cook complicated things.

I do the same thing. I always want something easy and old favorites rather than the leftovers or dinners I have planned out. LOL

  13. August 31, 2011 9:47 am

Hahhaha! I like YOUR reading better! 🙂 How funny!!
I also have a bunch of leftovers in the fridge, but all I wanted for dinner last night was eggs. Go figure.

I do the same thing when I cook. All I want is the one thing I didn’t make!

You two are too cute! 🙂

I’m always a mess but it works 😉

I’m wearing the same black dress I wore yesterday to work….imamess.com

That doesn’t make you a mess, darling. That makes you and Keith ready for Z-Day and an incredibly adorable couple. 😉

I love your reading story! Haha. How cute though, too. I bet everyone at the table thought you were the cutest thing ever. Lol

Hmmm.. What makes me a mess today? My obscene amounts of almond butter I’ve ingested.

That’s such a cute picture of you two. 🙂

I sadly put back a really expensive pair of boots at the store yesterday that I wanted to buy, and bought two pairs that were really cheap instead. Then I went back today and bought the super expensive pair too! Ah I just couldn’t help it!

Haha, that is the funniest story! Makes me love you even more.
