happenings
Is it already Wednesday?! What is going on? This week is flyin.
Nothing uber exciting but I did manage to do three workouts already. Three classes this week: I am SUCH a class junkie sometimes. I’ve done Body Combat, RPM (Spin) and Body Pump. That’s pretty well rounded wouldn’t you say?
I only wish I lived where this girl could be my instructor! That would be fun. So fun.
I also have been rocking the summer wardrobe! I am loving my summer necklaces, summer clothes and flips. I even managed to squeeze in a summer infinity scarf. I got this at GAP for $15 and it is so light. It feels like the T-shirt material!
I paired it with a plain white tank and black shorts. I felt so sassy. Ha! I seriously love clothes. I am my mother’s daughter.
What else? Oh! I have a teacher training today. Should be fine. Aint no thang! 🙂 Random but do you bring your own lunch to trainings even if food is provided? I usually do.
I am also loving pistachios as of late. For real. These nuts are making me one happy snacker. I can go to town. Fortunately Keith is on a walnut kick right now so I am not really having to share. I love it when Keith and I are on different food kicks. When we are both craving the same foods at the same time it can get ugly in the Bruneman household.
Wow…do my hands need lotion or what? How embarrassing?
I totally have let myself get sucked into Veronica Mars reruns. I promised myself I was not going to get involved. And then it happened. It so happened. Ugggghh.
Moving on….I am also drinking down ice tea like it is nobody’s business. I have been buying the Lipton Cold Brew and it is amazing. I add fresh squeezed lemon and some stevia and then watch out because I am slurping it down. Keith? Nope. Not as big of a tea fan! Life is so good. 🙂
Tell me your happenings?
the weekend
My weekend was spent in bed.
Get your mind out of the gutter!
Like sick in bed.
I somehow managed to catch myself a lovely cold. And it was a doozy of a cold. Headache, stopped up ears and nose, sore throat, cough. It was ick.
Is there anything worse than a summer cold? I think not. Although ask me again in the winter and I am sure I will be saying is there anything worse than a winter cold?
There was a lot of this:
And lots of this:
Truth: On Saturday night I took a shot of NyQuil at 5:00pm and slept like a baby until 8:00am the next morning. That’s 15 hours of sleep. FIFTEEN! It was needed. NyQuil works on me like really well. Apparently.
And today I am feeling about 90% back to normal. Normal enough to do Body Combat at 5:30 this morning. I would say I am on the mend. I hate [like haaaaaaaaaaate] to be sick and I seriously turn into the biggest baby.
Ask Keith.
For reals.
But he loves me. And even tries to make to me feel better by renting 21 Jump Street and buying me a movie snack:
Although I am sure this would have tasted a lot better had I actually had working taste buds. Those things were seriously on strike this weekend. The movie was good though although I’ve never seen the original 21 Jump Street (before my time??) but it was a good I’m-sick-and-can’t-get-out-of-bed-so-I-might-as-well-watch-a-movie kind of movie. Catch my drift?
So it was a boring weekend and not one to write home about. I got absolutely nothing of value done so that means this week is going to be B-U-S-Y!
Hopefully your weekend was better than mine!
Happy Monday!
true-isms
I think we all have beliefs about things and we don’t know why. Maybe we heard them from our parents or picked them up as common knowledge lore but here are a few things I have always believed to be true even though I am not sure they are. Heh.
For every gray hair you pull out, 5 more will grow in its place: and if this is true I am screwed as I literally pulled out 10 this morning.
If you run over the vacuum cord while vacuuming it will immediately cause the cord to catch fire: no idea where I got this from but every single time I vacuum I am so careful not to run over the cord.
Eating carrots is good for your eyesight: no idea but I love carrots and don’t wear glasses or contacts. Coincidence?
You never catch the same strain of the cold virus twice: anyone?? I swear this is true. HA!
Always wait 30 minutes to swim after eating so you don’t get stomach cramps and die in the water: I think this was a scare tactic used on me by the parents. I am sure it is over-inflated.
If you are on your period and go swimming in cold water you won’t bleed: sorry to my man readers but I have tested this one and it totally works! So the next time you want to go swimming, in very cold water, while on your period, without a tampon you’re safe…you know because that happens ALL the time. 🙂
Bouncing while stretching is bad: I’m not sure why it’s bad but I just know it is, right??
If you can tie a cherry stem into a knot only using your tounge then you’re a good kisser: I am hoping this isn’t true because try as I may I can not do it and I like to think I kiss pretty darn good.
You can always subtract 5 pounds from the doctor’s scale: I seriously doubt it is that much but it sounds good, no?
Liquor before beer and you’re in the clear BUT beer before liquor and you’ve never been sicker: not sure. I don’t usually mix the two and even then I sm such a lightweight that 2 drinks of anything will make me tipsy.
White vans are bad: okay logically I know this isn’t true but whenever I am walking Bella or out running and I see a plain white van my pulse quickens and if I can I will memorize the license plate number.
If you look directly at the sun you will instantly that minute go blind:Â I always thought this was true growing up and would never ever look directly at the sun. Truth? It still makes me nervous if it happens accidentally.
If you pour hot water on a frozen car windshield it will crack: Don’t know. I live in Texas and if it ever freezes hard enough to test this theory then hell has probably frozen over too.
Dogs can smell fear: Who knows. And don’t try to convince me one way or the other if this is true because I am quite certain you have never been a dog.
Do you have an true-isms that you believe but aren’t sure why?
saying it in person
Happy Wednesday!
