happenings

September 10, 2012

I know my posts have been lacking in content lately. I totally know.

But seriously I have spent almost every waking minute at school or doing school related things. I know that things will calm down as the school year rolls on but for now it is all-consuming.

Sorrrrrrrrrrrrry.

But there have been some happenings around these parts.

First, I joined Pinterest. {gasp} I said I wouldn’t. I held out. I joined.

I obviously have tons of will power. ha! 🙂

But seriously the scope of information on Pinterest is amazing. Right now my only two boards are Teaching Ideas and Workouts. SHOCKER. But still the wealth of information is overwhelming.

Second, Keith and I have started a new family tradition. Every Friday night (for the last month) we have been going to Serrano’s for dinner. Mexican food to end the week has been the best decision we’ve ever made. Ha! I start getting excited about it on Thursday. I obviously lead a very exciting life. Obviously.

Next, I have managed to squeeze in a little cooking. I have almost perfected a grain-free hamburger bun. I am not there yet but I am close. And as soon as I get it right I will blog it. Are you excited? You should be!

So there we have it. The incredibly exciting life of Kelly. Ha!

Do you have any family traditions?

Right now I would call our almost weekly breakfast taco Saturdays a tradition. We had a recruiting lunch at Serrano’s on Friday. I think they have amazing tortillas!

I like this mexican food idea. Now I want some – but now, not on Friday. I can’t wait that long.

As for Pinterest, that site is like crack. Have fun. 🙂

Ahhhh pinterest. I go through phases. I’ll pin a million things in a day and then not look at it for a month. It’s strange.

Oh those first few weeks (months?) of school….haaaang in there, Teach. It will get easier!

Until then…enjoy that mexican food. 🙂

oooo I love Mexican food! We went to El Toro, our local Mexican restaurant, on Sunday. I had veggie fajitas and mixed the leftovers with eggs last night for dinner. It was delish! You know it’s a good Mexican restaurant when you see Hispanic people dining too! Hope your new school year is going GREAT!

Pinterest is a problem, but one I don’t mind having. I’ve found a lot of good recipes through the site! As for family traditions . . . growing up, Sunday was always the big family meal. Baked chicken with dumplings and mashed potatoes. Now that I’m an adult, Sunday night is still the nice sit down dinner of the week.
