I took a cue from Julie this weekend and made this dinner only adding some sautéed spinach to the mix for some greens. I fully expected to have leftovers. We didn’t.
-
I finished American Wife and found myself very annoyed at how weak I found the main character, Alice, to be. American wife is a fictional story based on the life of Laura Bush. I now find myself wondering how much was really Laura Bush and how much was the author’s imagination.
-
I stared Whistlin’ Dixie in a Nor’Easter for my November book club.
-
I want to make this for Thanksgiving or, you know, for dinner tonight.
-
I am in love with Tina’s idea of sprinkling a spice into your coffee grounds before brewing. It makes for a good cup o joe but without the designer price.

I have become obsessed with the TV show, Brothers & Sisters. I didn’t watch the show when it was on but they are playing the reruns in order everyday from 4 to 6 on Soap Network and I am filling up my tivo box but loving every minute of this show! How did I not know how great it was and how did it get canceled??

Thanksgiving is Thursday and I am super excited! Thanksgiving is definitely my favorite holiday and I hate that it gets no love from department stores scrambling to decorate for Christmas!
-
I was in Target this weekend and was pleasantly surprised to see an entire aisle dedicated to Chanukah decorations and goods. Go Target!
-
I got a Groupon on Friday for 75% off eyelash extensions. I am very seriously considering it. I have boy eyelashes and have been coveting eyelash extensions for some time.

I had company this weekend. My 90-year-old grandpa drove (yes he still drives) down from Dallas (a 3 hour drive no less) to go to the Texas Longhorn football game with my Dad. He is a very smart man and we had some really interesting conversations about the world and the state of it. It was refreshing. (This is one of my favorite wedding pictures…my grandpa and my dad)
Tell me what’s going on in that head of yours?

Ha! I thought I was the only one with a 90-year old driving grandpa!
Two of my friends do eyelash extensions and they look incredible! They’re expensive to keep up, but I’ll totally do them if I have a big event on the horizon. You should try ’em.
Also: GO UT!!!
I want this so badly!!
Noooooo….you can’t be a UT fan! I guess the game this week is will be epic!
Hahaha, love it.
Here’s what’s in my head.
I don’t want to go to work.
I’m tired and it’s cold out.
I need new jeans because my zipper came off the track and can’t get to the store until tomorrow night.
We need milk, eggs, and bananas.
I wish I had a 3 week Christmas break instead of just two days off.
I love the snow and hope we get more.
I am the SAME way with Thanksgiving vs. Christmas!! Ease up a little, Christmas! and stay in December where you belong!
Omg how cute is your grandpa. And your dad for that matter! *wink wink*
I am with you. I love Thanksgiving and cannot wait to eat my way into a tryptophan coma.
HAHA! I think my dad is handsome but I know I am biased. Funny story…he does a little modeling and he used to be on the billboard in our airport that said “Welcome to Austin!”
My Grandpa still drive too and he’s turning 91 soon. I think its so impressive. 🙂
Love that picture 🙂 My grandmother still drives…she’s only 85 though! (haha…ONLY 85 ;-))
You asked a very scary question about what’s going on in my head 😉
I’m so excited for a shorter week and for Thanksgiving. I’m also a huge Thanksgiving fan and hate seeing Christmas stuff right after Halloween- makes no sense!
P.S. the first dish looks so good!
Right now it’s “why didn’t I drink coffee when I first came in?” Now it’s too late in the day, lol.
I love the pic of your dad and your grandpa! I don’t have any photos like that around so it’s cool to see others that do. And I am beyond excited for Thanksgiving this year! Tuesday night will involve a lot of baking since I won’t have time Wed night to prep.
My boyfriend has the longest eyelashes I have ever seen, and I am so jealous. His older sister used to pluck them out and make wishes on them all the time when they were younger.
What isn’t going on in my head? I swear, my head has been swimming with everything going on! I’m prepping for the potluck we’re having tomorrow and am keeping my eye on the prize- an awesomely lazy four day weekend… ahhhh
Wait until you watch the last season of Brothers & Sisters…it gets really bad! Sad because it was soooo good at the beginning.
Wow go Grandpa! I hope I can still drive at 90!
