walking down memory lane
I hope all my American readers had a fabulous 4th of July yesterday! I am a big fan of July 4th weekend. It holds a very special place in my heart. July 4th marks the beginning of my relationship with Keith. Many of you know our story. It is a tale in persistence! ha! Keith is 11 years older than I am and we have known each other for my entire life. (Our families are friends). I had the BIGGEST crush on him when I was 15 and ten years later when I was 25…I married him. 😉 But we started officially dating on July 3, 2004.
Our first date
Our first July 4th (2004) with his two nephews
Then exactly one year later on July 3, 2005 Keith proposed to me on the beach in Mississippi under the fireworks. I had just said YES in this picture!
And the next day…July 4th…as an engaged couple!
I guess the next logical conclusion would be to assume we got married on July 3rd the next year but we didn’t. We didn’t wait that long and instead got married in April. But July is always such a special month to me. Finally getting to be with Keith and then getting engaged to him a year later. I think the actual proposal is a lot more romantic than the wedding. The proposal is when you choose to ask someone to spend their life with you…the wedding is the decision. So July 4th weekend will always be a weekend that I look forward to every year.
🙂 love your pictures as always! so beautiful!
love your views on the wedding/proposal date. so true.
I have always thought that. I mean don’t get my wrong I loved the wedding and will always cherish that special day but the day Keith proposed to me means a lot more. It was when he decided that he couldn’t live without me and asked me to share his life. Likewise it is the day I chose the same thing when I said yes. I just think proposals are incredibly romantic! 🙂
Great pictures! Happy engagement anniversary!

Having a special anniversary that fireworks are a default part of the celebration is smart thinkin’ on his part. 🙂 Hope you had a great holiday weekend!

I love the happiness in both of your smiles on the ‘just engaged’ photo. What a great story!
You all are so cute!!! You both look blissfully happy in those pics 🙂
This is super sweet!
I love it! The proposal is always so much more intimate than a wedding since it is usually just the two people as opposed to 200.
