Day 25 of the 30 day challenge is to name someone who fascinates you and why. I promise I won’t say Peyton Manning. (although I know you all were thinking that weren’t you? Don’t lie. I can smell liars. And yes I can smell you through my computer. What? You don’t have that technology yet?)

Someone who fascinates me? Huh. Lots of people fascinate me:

      • the tough looking guy who walks his 5 chihuahuas every morning
      • the eighty year old man who runs the same 5 mile loop everyday
      • the lady who works in the Passport office who obviously hates her job
      • the Starbucks barista who spoke 10 octaves too loud when I ordered while on my cell phone
      • the Uncle who thought it would be wise to tell me I was fat this past weekend
      • the girl who lost 135 pounds the old-fashioned way
      • the people who supposedly wake up in the middle of the night to check Facebook
      • the people who know the trivia they ask on Jeopardy
      • the woman who whipped out her bare boob and breast-fed while simultaneously shopping for jeans at Old Navy
      • the people who can stand to let their hair get dirty enough for dreadlocks
      • the professional athlete who can cheat and still look in the mirror every day
      • the rent-a-cop outside the restaurant who told me at 9:20pm that there was a noise ordinance that started at 10:00pm
      • the girl who wears a full face of makeup to my outdoor bootcamp
      • the tiny professional eaters who can shove 40+ hotdogs down their throats
      • the people who don’t eat breakfast
      • the people who read my blog…bless you
      • the people who have enough money to spend $35,000 for a ticket to a recent political fundraising event in ATX
      • the women who have natural births
      • And last but certainly never least: my husband who is the best person I know and he truly fascinates me ever single day.
Who fascinates you?

People who don’t eat breakfast fascinate me too. It’s the first thing I think about when I wake up!

    • May 13, 2011 9:10 am

Me too!! My parents joke that when I was a child I would eat breakfast before I went to the bathroom when I woke up.

I think I’m glad I don’t have the technology to smell people through the Internet! Child prodigies, geniuses, the mentally ill… They all fascinate me!

So many people fascinate me — but one person that really fascinates me is my niece Flora who has Autism. She is the sweetest girl and I love her so much. Sometimes I wish I knew what she is thinking and what her world is really like.

I was laughing so hard at your list. You could have gone all serious and cheesy and talked about someone who inspires you because of blah blah blah (which would have been beautiful) but this was just priceless! And you know I’m all about breastfeeding, but I never once whipped mine out in public and do not understand people who can.

    • May 13, 2011 12:58 pm

Yeah…I just didn’t feel like going to serious route.

And no lie about the Old Navy lady. I am not opposed to breast feeding in public but I think you should cover up. Nope she just pulled her tube top down and got to it. I was like AH…I can’t stop staring!!!

Im fascinated by people in general. Im fascinated by selfish people, and how they justify it (even though Im totally selfish too, but at the same time Im really not). Im fascinated by the kids down the street that play basketball and continue throwing the ball at the net even when I walk by with the dog. One day I will get hit in the face. Im more fascinated that their parents didnt teach them better. And like you, I will NEVER understand how people can skip breakfast. Im pretty sure I would die.

Dude. Your uncle called you fat?!?! WHAT?!?!

So, since I don’t eat breakfast, that makes me fascinating? I’m taking that as a compliment.

    • May 13, 2011 12:59 pm

um yeah…not the best weekend by any means. I emailed you the story!

I read Keith what you wrote about the breakfast thing and he got a kick out it! 🙂

The women who have natural births…my mother in law! eeps…that’s a lot to live up to lol

  8. May 13, 2011 12:56 pm

I seriously don’t know how women give birth naturally. My sister in law did it 2 out of 3 of her births! It’s truly amazing! People who teach for 25 years or more fascinate me!

    What a cool post!

I am fascinated by people who are naturally thin. 😉

  10. May 13, 2011 4:25 pm

Dude, so many of these crack me up!! And what is up with your uncle? Whateves…people amaze me. The boob thing would have freaked me out too.

  11. May 13, 2011 6:32 pm

I’m pretty sure that was the most fascinating (and though-provoking) post I’ve read in a while.

I’m not sure I think about most of those things. I’m fascinated that you do. I like it. 🙂

As soon as I saw the 135lbs and I knew that you were talking about Andrea!

I love that your husband is the last because it really is so important to be constantly surprised by your mate.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

This is great! I love this list! I am fascinated by people that don’t let things bother them! If I could be like them I could maybe add 30 years onto my life! Haha!! 🙂

  14. May 18, 2011 3:57 pm

Hey – I am a (new) reader and I had two natural births. Does that make me tripley fascinating? 🙂

I am fascinated by people who are truly confident, but not cocky. Those people that just exude inner strength and confidence.
