best vacations part II

April 8, 2011

Did you miss part I? Since mine and Keith’s five-year wedding anniversary is this month I am recapping the best vacations we’ve taken! This next vacation is special to me because this is where Keith popped the question. We went to Pass Christian, Mississippi with some friends who owned a house there. We spent July 4th weekend living on the bayou!

Pass Christian, Mississippi (circa 2005)

We fell in love with the neighbor’s dog. We named him Snoopy. Tell me this isn’t the cutest picture, ever?!

We hung out on the boat and rode jet skis all day long. Twas perfect!

What I remember about this picture is we took the boat to a river cafe (this was taken on the little parking dock) and I literally ate my weight in boiled shrimp! I would go back just for that shrimp.

I LOVE this picture. We had just gotten engaged about 5 minutes before! We both look so happy! Keith proposed on the beach under the fireworks on July 3, 2005.

The Newly happy ENGAGED couple! haha!

Unfortunately about 3 days after we left Pass Christian, hurricane Katrina destroyed it. (what is it with us visiting all the places Katrina destroyed) It was incredibly sad and our friend’s house was completely washed away. Nothing was left. I always wondered what happened to “Snoopy”. I hate the end on a sad note because this trip really was my most favorite. I have always said that the time when Keith got down on one knee and chose me to spend his life with was the day I will forever cherish.

Love this! I can’t wait for summer and fireworks and beaches (and maybe a ring… haha).

That dog is seriously cute. It looks like so much fun, with the river cafe and, of course, the boiled shrimp. You guys look so happy.

Truth? I have always thought that Keith and Snoopy look alike. ha!

OMG, how surreal to have been there right before it vanished! Still, what fun and yes, adorable picture!

    Adorable photos, as always.

Would you believe that I actually worked in Pass Christian?!?! It was right after I finished my undergrad, and I got a job as an intern at a wildlife rehab center. I moved there at the beginning of January, lasted about a week and went back home.

The job sucked, but Pass Christian was amazingly beautiful.

Wow…what a small world. Pass Christian isn’t that far from good old Kiln…where Mr. Favre is from. (gag me)

This makes me so happy. I can just feel how happy you and Keith were in these photos and it makes me smile. I hope we meet someday, Kell. I know we’d fall in love 🙂

Oh Snoopy is so cute!!! The ending is sad, but I’m glad you got to go and have such a wonderful time. I’m sure many people have lovely memories of that place!

You and Keith both look incredibly happy!!!

Snoopy is adorable! If Bassetts weren’t such difficult dogs, I’d totally get one 🙂

    Ah cutest picture ever!!

    Sounds like so much fun.
I hope Snoopy is ok – you never know right? He could be one of the lucky ones.

What a beautiful vacation! My husband also proposed on a beach…but in New Jersey. It is so devastating what happened by Hurricane Katrina, but you do have beautiful memories there.

That is SUCH a cute picture of Keith & ‘Snoopy.’
That is really sad about Katrina, but at least the two of you have so many great memories of that place 🙂
