making it fun
What do you do when you’ve been married for 5 years and been together for 7? You go out for a fancy shamcy dinner and then come home and have fun thinking about everything you’ve done together!
The bottom line: our lives just don’t work without the other! We’re a perfect match!
five years.
Today is mine and Keith’s 5 year wedding anniversary!
When I think back over the past 5 years I can only think that I truly married the man that God intended for me. We are both great curve ball hitters…no matter what comes our way we knock it out of the park. I love you, Keith. More today than ever.
the royal wedding
Did you watch the Royal Wedding this morning? I did! Curiosity got the best of me and I am a that girl who is in love with weddings. I would love to be a wedding planner! Anyway, I know everyone has an opinion so here’s mine!
First up….THE DRESS! I liked it. It wasn’t my style or something I would have chosen for myself, but it looked wonderful on Kate. It was classy, appropriate and very elegant. I think I was expecting something more outlandish (media hype perhaps?) but I love this dress and the more pictures I see them more I like it.

Next: The Maid of Honor, Pippa. I will be honest. I don’t like the idea of doing white for anyone other than the bride. It just seems like an odd choice. But the dress itself was amazing and Pippa has a figure I might kill for.

And we can’t talk about a wedding without talking about the groom! I thought William looked so regal! Very prince-like!

The Ceremony: Loved it! I thought their vows were sweet and modern. I am really glad she refused to use the word “obey”. Go Kate! I also liked the little whispers between the couple and when William told Kate she looked beautiful I smiled so big! It was a sweet ceremony!

THE KISS: I thought the first kiss was weak and I was glad that they followed it up with another one. I can’t imagine how daunting that would be to stand on that balcony in front of that crowd!! I read Kate’s lipped as she walked out and WOW was all she could say. I would have liked to see a little more of a kiss…but it was still sweet nonetheless.
Did you watch The Royal Wedding? What did you think?
do you remember?
Day 14 of the 30 day challenge is to discuss my earliest memory. That’s hard because I feel like some of my earliest memories aren’t all that interesting. Like at all. I mean I have vague memories of my mom putting my pastel colored bottles in the dishwasher. Fascinating stuff folks. Haha! So instead, I am going to tell you my favorite childhood memory.
Every summer, my parents sent me to camp. It was called Green Family Camp and it was a Jewish summer camp. It was a 3 week sleep-a-way camp. I loved it. Loved it! I think one of the reasons it was so fun for me was because everyone was Jewish and I didn’t feel like the outcast. I didn’t have to explain myself to anyone. Everyone got it. But best of all were the friendships I made and the activities we were involved in. I mean it was a blast: ropes course, basketball, gymnastics, dodgeball, swimming, campfires, bunk beds, cabins, arts and crafts, music and tennis. It was an amazing experience and I hope one day I am able to send my kids to camp. Thanks to Facebook I am still in touch with some of those camp friends I made 2 decades ago. We stayed in cabins with bunk beds (I always wanted to bottom) and there were about 20 kids in every cabin with 2-3 counselors. We had to pack our items in trunks (I thought those were the coolest things) and even though it was sad when my parents left me it took all of about 5 minutes for me to be crazy happy! We wrote letters to our parents, had no access to television or the phone, Nintendo or video games. We instead got outside and played sports, or some kids chose drama or music. I think those are things that are lacking in today’s childhoods and yet they are important. And lead to fantastic memories! 😉
Here is a picture of me and my cousin, Katie, who came to camp with me. I am the one in the UT garb (yes I realize this is blasphemous since I ended up going to Texas A&M) and Katie is the cute red-head!
