labor day workout

September 3, 2012

Looking for a workout to do today?

Or tomorrow or the next day? I have one.

Here’s the pattern:

  • 12, 10, 8, 6, 4 (reps) As you go down in reps go up in weight
  • 2 minute cardio interval
  • 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 (reps) As you go up in reps go down in weight

Use this pattern Chest Press, Upright Rows, Deadlifts, Skull Crushers, Biceps Curls, and front Lunges

It’s a doozy.

Then go recover with labor day food and drink.

Ha!

ENJOY YOUR DAY OFF EVERYONE!

oh my gosh

August 30, 2012

Wow. I am busy.

Like buuuuuuuusy.

But here are some highlights:

  • My kiddos seem really great this year! 🙂
  • My mom has embraced my room theme and is going to town buying fun stuff. Aren’t mom’s great?
  • Peyton Manning is B-A-C-K! Hello QB rating of over 140 in the last preseason. I am pretty sure the media used the word “exquisite” when describing his performance. Swoon!

  • Keith has been doing all the cooking as of late. Love him.
  • I got 7.5 hours of sleep last night which is a record for the last 2 weeks. I was exhausted!
  • I have stopped at Starbucks every morning this week. Grande Blonde Roast please!

  • Labor Day means we already get a three-day holiday. I need it. Uh-oh! 🙂
  • I have been a “bad wife” and haven’t gone to one of Keith’s softball games in 3 weeks. I used to be so regular.
  • Lastly, I heard that one of my favorite shows, Castle, is coming back September 26th. Yeeeees!

Give me some of your highlights?

the time has come

“share my passion”

August 24, 2012

Last Sunday, Keith decided that we should go mountain biking. I tried to get out of it by using every excuse in the book. Nothing worked. He was determined. You see Keith is an avid mountain biker and is really good and “he wanted to share that passion with me”…seriously he used that line.

He’s good. Really good.

So we loaded up our bikes, packed helmets, gloves and water and set out.

We started out on a relatively flat stretch of land to break me in (or rather to break my ho-ha in…ladies you totally get that, right?) We started heading to some minor technical rocks. (Truth? “Minor” might even be too strong of a word) But I am a newbie. I started going over some rocks and started to wobble. I panicked a little. And started tipping. And down I went.

I remember laying face first on the rocks completely sprawled out. I can only imagine how funny (and pathetic) I must have looked. And to Keith’s credit he never laughed. He just picked me up, dusted me off and gave me some tips. Then off we went.

4 days later my poor little leg still looked like this:

But nothing more serious than some bruising. (thank goodness) But I did it. I shared Keith’s passion aaaaand I feel like I shared it enough to get me by for a while. 😉

Have you ever been mountain biking?

Do you and your significant other share the same exercise passion?
