scary weekend + nursery photos
Happy Monday!
This weekend was good although we did have one little scare. I got into a minor car accident. A lady rear ended me at a stop light. She wasn’t going very fast and my car only needs a new bumper due to minor damage. But being 8.5 months pregnant I was a little freaked. I ended up going into the hospital to get checked out and was actually having very regular contractions. They were coming every 3 minutes for about 30 seconds. The hooked me up to the monitors and Trey was fine. They checked my cervix and it was closed. They then made me stay on the monitors for 4 hours. At the end of the 4 hours I was still having contractions 3 minutes apart so they checked my cervix again and there was no change. So they sent me home and told me to come back is they got worse, they haven’t, and to follow up with my doctor today, which I will.
I am so thankful that the accident was minor and that Trey is okay. But this mama-to-be is a little freaked out by my constant contractions.
So onto a more exciting thing….nursery pictures! The nursery is finally 100% complete and I am thrilled with how it all turned out! Here are some pictures. I took these with my phone and they are a little yellow. So sorry for the quality. π¦ I did a sports theme….shocking right?
It’s all so exciting! I can’t believe that it is almost time! AHHHH! π
That is scary. Glad everything is okay. Where did you get those alphabet and letter prints? We want to find something like that for our nursery, although I keep buying dog themed things so it might turn into a dog nursery. Is that strange? Little boys like dogs, I guess.
Dogs would be great for a boy nursery! I ordered those prints off Etsy….Couture Prints was the shop.
AH! I’m SO GLAD you’re OK girl, and that baby Trey is too. That is super scary! Also, I’m totally counting down the days. I want to see little man (when he’s ready of course)!
Love how his room turned out! I would love to see a before and after of the wall color with white vs. ice – haha. How are you feeling today? I meant to text you yesterday but we were going all day and I never even used my phone. On a bossy note – don’t forget I think you need to get blackout shades to go behind the blinds. π
Oh my gosh…remember before it was green. Like kermit the frog green. Ha! That room has been so many things…first it was an office, then a gym, then a storage space and now a nursery. I love that it is finally a useful room! ha! π
We are going to start out not using black out shades. The room gets pretty dark once the blinds are actually closed. I don’t want him to only sleep in a dark room. I want him to be adjustable and know that he can sleep in any room no matter the darkness. This might totally be wishful thinking but I have heard such horror stories about black out shades and noise machines…that once your child becomes dependent on them without them they refuse to sleep. Since my mom isn’t going to have black out shades at her house and he is staying there once a week…I am going to try foregoing them for now. We’ll see if I change my mind later. Ha! π
Yikes!!! So sorry about the accident– I’m so glad everything is okay. The nursery is adorable– your baby boy will be in it before you know it!
so glad and baby trey are ok. Nursery looks AMAZING! we use blackout curtains and music too. we don’t really have any trouble though when we go places. we always have her music w us on our phones, so it’s not really a problem. β€
That’s good to know. I am just really scared about setting up bad habits that I will be hard to break later. You can totally tell I am a first time mom who has no idea what she is doing!! HA!
So glad you and baby are okay! I, also, totally love the nursery and I can’t wait to see little Trey when he gets here!
when did this happen?!!! Ahh, call me if you need anything!
It actually happened when I was out running errands before you came over. I kept telling myself that I was fine but then after you left I just started crying to Keith because I was so scared something was wrong. So I called the after hours number for my doctor and they told me to come in. I went in around 5:00 and they let me go around 9:30 that night.
So glad you are ok Kelly. SO SCARY! I got into an accident with Gabriella, when she was 9 months old. Talk about FREAKED out. i was shaking so bad, I couldn’t even talk. Thankfully we were both ok, and the accident was not my fault, but still so scary!
And LOVE the nursery, especially the part with the books π I second the blackout curtains!
I’m scared to do blackout curtains because I don’t want to set up bad habits. I guess I will just play it by ear. If he’s waking up with the sun and not going down when it’s light out I might have to rethink this.
Aw you are so cute! Glad it all worked out, accidents are scary! But babies are fun! My youngest is now nearly 10 so I’m going to get my baby fix on your blog π Can’t wait for Trey to be here!
OMG, what a freak out moment! I’m so glad you and baby Trey are OK!! And the nursery looks so cute!! Can’t wait for your big day to come and for you to post pics!!
When did you become 8.5 months pregnant?
I’m so glad that you and baby Trey were okay after the accident. I hope that baby boy doesn’t come on a Saturday or Sunday (or maybe Thursday/Monday). Wouldn’t want to miss a football game. #priorities
So sorry you had a scare! The nursery looks great – just needs a baby to inhabit that cute space. π You will spend many a nights pacing that floor with little Trey. And they will go by way too fast!
We never used black out curtains, but both our kids did well with an oscillating fan (poor mans white noise machine).
