so…
So. The year is marching on. Thanksgiving is almost here, football is dominating my big screen and the election is finally over! No more political ads! Although at least I don’t live in a swing state…you guys were inundated, I’m sure.
My class was pretty excited about the Presidential Election. The next one won’t be until they are in 6th grade and to a second grader that sounds like an eternity away! My election week writing assignment was: “If I was President I would….” and let me tell you it was the cutest thing ever.
Evvvvver.
Some of the things my second graders would do:
- Give everyone free ice cream
- Pay teachers more money (think this kiddo knows the way to my heart or, better yet, my gradebook?)
- The class was evenly split between raising taxes and lowering taxes
- Build homes for the homeless
- Give good speeches
- Make good laws
- Pick up trash and more recycling
- Make gas cheaper
- Help the army
I don’t know about you but I am liking these campaign platforms! Ha! I am telling you they were a blast to read. 🙂
My football season is going fantastic. The Aggies are doing much better than expected in the SEC. Whoop! And although I suspect we will probably not win against Alabama (hello #1 in the country) this weekend we are still doing great! Eat it Big 12! ha! And my professional team of choice, ahem Denver, is looking mighty fine thanks to my beloved Peyton Manning. He is just so stinkin hot good I can’t stand it. I still think it is funny that the first football player I ever had a crush on was John Elway and now he and Peyton are on the same team. It makes me deliriously happy. Um, Indy who?
Bella is as crazy as ever. We left her in the backyard one day this week (you know like a dog) and she was having no part of that. She managed to bust through our back gate and go into our front yard to spend her day. Thank goodness she didn’t run off or get hit by a car. She merely wanted to just lay in the front yard versus the back. So through the fence she went. Sheesh. I was a little shocked when I got home from work and was greeted by my (not in the backyard) puppy. Keith has started calling her knucklehead and she is starting to answer to it!! She is definitely my best girl but she can totally be a knucklehead. Totally.
And that, my friends, is my life. Ha!
Not that I ever questioned your love for Peyton before, but after seeing that picture and how he looks JUST like Keith in it, I know why you like him so much 😉
I know! Keith and Peyton DO look just alike. Keith likes to think he inspired my crush! Ha! Thank goodness Keith is such a good sport about it! 😉 He’s a keeper!!
haha he is such a good sport! He must not be too worried he’s going to lose you 😉
p.s. How bout them Aggies?! So much for them losin to Bama! 😉 Hope you’re celebrating with your pup on the chair hehe
Yes! Yes! Yes! I am so freaking excited!!!!! Holy crap we beat Bama!!!!!!!!!
haha love it! 😀
oh i love what your second graders said! too precious. and about bella oh that so reminds me of my dog before Pepsi. he was a rottie and the life of my life but thats another story. anyway he would bust out of our back yard too and i would get home and he would be sitting by the front door. yup he and Bella would have had a ball 🙂 this year has been crazy so i had to get off of instagram!
I noticed you weren’t on Instagram! I hope things settle down for you friend.
I was thinking the EXACT same thing about your husband looking like Peyton Manning. You definitely have a type!
Second graders are so cute! Luckily Bella stayed put. Scary!
Um – how awesome was Saturday’s game? We most certainly did beat the #1 team.
The election has brought about some interesting talks with my first grader. Politics is tough to understand as an adult, much less a little one.
Puppies are the best.
Your Aggies BEAT ALABAMA!! I’m so ready for a non-SEC champion this year. (Let’s hope.) Also, I’m jealous of your coach. He’s a Purdue alum and doing a hell of a lot better than our current Purdue coach (please, say he’s getting fired . . )
