and just like that…

August 17, 2012

And just like that summer is over.

It’s that time guys. School time. I am heading back in on Monday for one kid-less week before the little dears come back the week after. I am excited! I am also slightly sad to see summer go.

No more early morning workouts. Those will have to now take place in the evening.

No more leisurely mornings drinking coffee and reading blogs.

No more long lunches.

No more spur of the moment errands.

But. That’s okay because I am pretty excited about the upcoming school year. It promises to be one filled with laugher, excitement, challenges and lots of hard work.

I was always the kid who loved school and cried on the last day. For real. Cried. I loved picking out pretty school supplies and laying out my clothes each night. I loved my friends and my teachers and PE! I loved P.E. Shocker right? 😉

So here we go! Welcome back school year (the kid in me has missed you)!

Do you get a summer break?

Did you like school as a kid?

Just went through the first week of pre-service week! [I always say pre-school but that conjures finger painting.] It is surreal and so much harder for my body to adjust to than I thought. I met the kids at Open House last night, which started to make it feel real, but I still don’t think I’m ready. [But are we ever?]

    I loved school too, but I don’t think i cried 😉

My boys don’t want summer to end but luckily we start after Labor Day. Schools in CA have already started.

Good luck with the re-entry! Hope your class is awesome 🙂

Yay! Good luck, I’m excited FOR you, but also excited that I don’t have to head back into the classroom this year. 🙂

As a mom with two kids, I am more than ready for school to start again!! I think they are, too. While I will miss the lazy mornings, I am pretty excited to have a more structured schedule again….and to get back in the gym!!

    What grade do you teach?

What do you teach Kelly? School started here on Wednesday. Much busier now that kids are back. I run the student information software and do all of the state reporting…blahhh haha! So I don’t get any time off in the summer, but it sure is a lot quieter when it’s just the custodians and me in July! Good luck on Monday and enjoy your last weekend of summer! xo

We would have been the bestest little friends as kids! I loved school so much! The clothes, the school supplies, art projects, and even homework.

You guys head back to school early down south! The kidlets here don’t start until after Labor Day.

I loved school too! I counted down the days of summer because I couldn’t wait for the new year. That only lasted through elementary school though…I think I was over it by the time I started middle school! Now, I’d give anything for a summer break- ha

oh yes! i feel your pain but for me i must get up at the crack of dawn and workout or it may never happen……at this time it is such mixed emotions. we have found out what if feels like to make our own schedule and relish the time to relax and play but teaching can be so rewarding as well. enjoy these last few days!
