life

July 6, 2012

I would like to personally thank the wonderful person (people) who invented shorts, tank tops, and flip flops.

I owe you my life.

For real.

So other than sweating my booty off every.single.day we have been up to our usual summer shenanigans. On July 4th we had a block party where everyone pulled their grills out to the front and cooked up dinner and watched fireworks. It was fun. Especially with this man at the grill.

Cutest butt ever! Ha!

Keith also tried to take my picture as the fireworks were going but he was unsuccessful. Damn slow shutter speed. We are such camera dunces.

The next morning after July 4th, Bella and I took our normal morning walk to the park. Only this time there was something else at the park to accommodate the clean up from the July 4th celebrations the day before:

Now here is something you should know about Bella. She hates trash cans. And not like hates but like haaaaaaaaaates trash cans. Since we rescued her when she was about 5 months old we don’t know exactly what happened in her past to make her so afraid. I actually try not to think about it. Anyway usually she sees the normal blue trash cans on weekly trash day in the neighborhood. But that trashcan above sent her into near cardiac arrest.

She was refusing to walk in front of it on the walking trail. I pretty much forced her to walk by it. I am a bad mama but Bella faced her fear!

She is such a baby. Even though she is quite large.

Keith and I joke all the time that she had reverse body dismorphia. She thinks she weighs about 10 pounds and when she sees her reflection she barks and goes crazy wondering who that big ole dog is staring back her. As also evidenced by the fact that she likes to sit in our laps and sleep in our bed.

But she is impossible not to love.

She’s my savior doggy.

So that is us. Yay. Aren’t we fantastic? So thrilling I tell you! 🙂

Enjoy your Friday and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We have a FUN one planned. Can’t wait to share it on Monday!

Stay Cool!

Murphy has weird little quirks too that make me wonder what happened to him in his former life before we got him (we got him when he was 2). He hates hates hates riding in the car. He doesn’t really like water and come to think of it, he doesn’t really like it when I have him on the leash on one hand and am dragging the trash can to the curb either.

I love Murphy!! I think Golden’s are the most beautiful dogs. So elegant looking. 🙂

Hahaha…Ella has reverse body dysmorphia too 🙂 And yep, our dogs are the same way– SO freaked out by random things!! There was a dog statue on our walking route in Indiana, and I swear, it gave Baxter a heart attack EVERY. SINGLE. WALK. 🙂

Can’t wait to hear about your fun weekend. We’re going to Salado, should be fun, I just hope we can get some sleep! Not typically easy staying in a hotel room with T and with the issues we’re dealing with now…ugh…it could be bad. Going to try hard to wear him out during the day!!!

That is too funny about your dog having reverse body dysmorphia – I think most of the larger dogs do 🙂 Hope you had a great 4th!
