garage sale victory

March 26, 2012

I love garage sales.

And thrift stores.

And ebay.

I buy into the whole “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

And thankfully so does Keith.

And this weekend we scored!

In our house we have a loft.  Said loft is going to one day be baby’s playroom [God-willing] but currently is our junk room. We have all kinds of crap in there. WE need to have a garage sale of our own. It is just one of those things we keep putting off.

Well this weekend as we happened to be driving down a main street in our neighborhood we spotted the perfect “get our ass in gear” piece of furniture for that loft.

A microfiber couch with a chase lounge. 2 years old. From a pet-free and smoke-free home. They were asking $450 but agreed to our price of $350! SCORE! Sorry for the blurry cell phone picture.

Now we just need to get the rest of the crap out of there and make this room a place we want to be. There is nothing like new furniture to motivate us to do just that!

Are you a garage sale person??

I am in need of a bedroom set and I have searched all over craigslist this weekend to come up with something…I still have nothing. That is a HUGE score for you. I hate spending money, so I’m all about repurposing or buying someone else’s trash…however you want to look at it. Have a great week Kelly!

That is very similar to the setup of my sectional! You are going to be VERY happy with it. Nice score. 🙂

Not sure if I’m going to double comment (it wouldn’t let me post what I just said!), but that is a lot like my sectional couch. I think you’re going to be very happy with it! 🙂

I wish I was more of a garage-sale stalker. I always drive by and think “oh that looks really nice…” and the kick myself later for not stopping. There are a couple things we really need for our house now that I need to be on the lookout for this year so hopefully I will pull it together. Great find!

I don’t do much garage-sale-ing, unless I’m with my mother. Then, she forces us to stop at all of them. You scored BIG on that couch. Why would someone want to get rid of that?! haha good job!

Apparently they just moved in from a much larger house and didn’t have room for it. Yay for us!

I love those couches, they’re SO comfortable! I used to love garage sales, but I rarely stop anymore because I never carry cash. I’m afraid I’ll fall in love with something and not be able to pay for it.

What a great find! That chase lounge will be great for reading/tv watching!

I’m not a thrift store fan but I love garage sales!

Awesome! I have been traumatized from too many garage sales as a kid, so it is definitely not something I aim to spend my weekend doing. Ha!

HA! Yes when I think if garage sales I still think of you! 🙂 I don’t usually go to them regularily but if I see something worth stopping for I will. I also go to the Steiner Ranch neighborhood garage sale because they always sale high end barely used stuff. 😉
