yoga meltdown
I have an extremely busy day today and the only time I had to workout was 5:00a.m. Now to actually be working out by 5:00a.m. meant that my alarm went off in the 4:00 hour.
The early bird gets the worm right?
I. hope. so.
I needed to be super efficient this morning and that meant I needed a plan. And usually a great way to make me stay on track when I am in a hurry is to use a DVD. There is a clear path and order to the workout. You know exactly how long it will last and you can’t waste any time.
Perfect.
I popped in Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown and 30 minutes later I was sweaty with some shaky arms. I liked it. And I feel like Jillian is making a real effort in this video to be likeable and not so hard assy.
Then I jumped in the shower, blew dry my hair, curled my hair, got dressed, made a green smoothies, made a lunch, typed this blog post and I am out the door.
3…2…1….Happy Monday!
Do you ever use workout DVD’s? Which ones?
I love DVDs because they take the planning out of working out. Lately I have been loving Bob Harpers Yoga for Warriors and ripped core videos.
I LOVE workout videos! I used to use them all the time. They help me get a variety of workouts in without having to think too early in the morning! Love Bob’s and Julian’s videos, as well as Core Fusion and Cathe’s. I need to get this one though. I need a good yoga video since I want to get back into it more. Have a great Monday Kelly!
So nice to hear I’m not the only one without a day off today! I wish I was better at being a morning workout person. A dvd is a good way to do it without the drag of driving to the gym, looking for parking, etc. Lately I’ve been obsessed with the Bethenny yoga dvd. I have yet to try Jillian’s dvds, and I think I will!
I like Yoga Meltdown, too, I just have to remember that it’s not like normal yoga!! haha
I REALLY like Chris Freytag’s 10 lb slimdown…really any of her dvds are good.
I also liked Turbo Jam when I did it. The Ab Jam is awesome!!
You know, I actually have that DVD…and have never done it!! I bought it when I was on a Jillian kick a few years ago, but never actually got around to opening it up, ha!
I enjoy using DVDS – it’s so nice to not have to leave the house for a workout sometimes! I like my Pilates DVD by Leslee Bender: http://www.bendertraining.com/cart/proddetail.asp?prod=1007, which is about 40 minutes. I also teach Turbo Kick, so I will use my teacher DVDs to practice new rounds and get in a workout.
I’m all about the workout dvd’s. Yoga Meltdown is one of my favorites.
I go hot and cold on the workout DVDs. I think I just get bored with them because I have to motivate myself to do them. I really love classes at the gym, I have decided nothing gets me working harder than someone just telling me what to do. Ha!
Sounds like a good one! Since doing P90X I’ve started getting into the DVD’s slowly. Right now I’m enjoying the Rodney Yee yoga videos from GAIAM. I think they are mellower than Jillian! But I love them. I’m doing the a.m. yoga each weekday morning. They are 20 to 25 min, which is perfect. And once or twice a week I’m going one of his power yoga programs – about 50 to 60 min each.
Agreed. DVDs help me stay focused and not have to plan anything – just get it done!
