pretty in pink
My body is so confused. This summer when we were having 112 degree heat waves every single day I was eating hot oatmeal for breakfast. Seriously. Now that we getting down into the thirties at night I wake up craving cold smoothies.
Yeah I don’t get it either.
So here is what I am sipping on this morning while wearing pajama pants, socks, a t-shirt and a sweat shirt.
Oh, and I am seriously considering putting gloves on.
Pretty In Pink [Strawberry Banana] Smoothie
1 cup almond milk (or any liquid you prefer)
1/2 frozen banana
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 handful spinach
2 Tbsp. golden flaxseed meal
1 scoop protein powder
Put everything into your blender and let it rip!
Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go take a HOT shower!
Do you ever crave ice cold foods in the winter?
How did it stay pink!? Any time I put spinach in my smoothies, it comes out a gross brownish green color, haha!
Mine usually do too but I think this time I just used more strawberries and not a whole lot of spinach! (I was at the bottom of the spinach container so I doubt I got more than a few puny leaves in there!)
I think every smoothie I make ends up turning into a strawberry banana one. Haha!
I’ve been bringing cold smoothies with me to work and sitting there shivering while I drink them. They’re just so good though. 🙂
I just can’t do cold drinks in the winter, but I am forever freezing cold, so it would be crazy of me. I’ve actually been drinking more red wine instead of white lately too, just because the thought of a cold glass makes me rub my hands together.
I had a smoothie today too – but LOTS of spinach in it so it was really green. 🙂
Yes, I crave iced coffe like crazy..year round! I just can’t ever drink a hot drink that often..I prefer cold drinks!
Me too! Iced coffee in January is my favorite thing right now.
