one year; one sentence
I saw a while back on the Daily Post this blog topic: For each year you have been alive, write a single sentence about the most important thing that happened to you that year. I thought that might be kind of fun to do. This really makes you think!!
1981: I was born.
1982: I moved to Austin, Texas from Dallas, Texas.
1983: McDonald’s introduces the McNugget <—-so google totally helped me out on this one. I was 2…I don’t remember anything when I was 2.
1984: My brother, Josh, was born.
1985: Super Mario Brothers makes it’s debut
1986: I started kindergarten at Northwest Elementary and my teacher was Ms. Kelly.
1987: I wanted to be Samantha on Who’s The Boss.
1988: We spent one week every summer on Galveston Island <—some of my favorite childhood memories!
1989: My Pappaw died. (My mom’s daddy!) 😦
1990: I experienced my first crush on the Zach Morris from Saved By The Bell.
1991: I started reading Ann M. Martin’s The Baby-Sitters Club books. I had all of them. I wish wish wish I would have saved those books!
1992: I watched Shannon Miller win silver in the 1992 Summer Olympics and forever sealed my love of watching gymnastics.
1993: I started at Westview Middle School and had lockers for the first time.
1994: I had encephalitis and meningitis at the same time.
1995: I had my Bat Miztvah and my Torah portion was the Ten Commandments.
1996: I ran in the 5A State Track meet on the 4×400 relay team as a freshman.
1997: I placed third in the 4×400 relay at the AAU Junior Olympics.
1998: I got my first car! A 1997 Nissan Sentra. (I still remember the license plate!)
1999: I graduated from Pflugerville High School.
2000: Y2K….remember how freaked out everyone was?
2001: September 11, 2011 will be a day I will never forget.
2002: This was the final season of Felicity (best show ever).
2003: I graduated from Texas A&M University.
2004: I got my first [real adult] job.
2005: I got engaged to my best friend.
2006: I married Keith.
2007: We bought a house!
2008: I ran a marathon in under four hours. (3:50.02)
2009: I started my first blog, Healthy Living With Kelly.
2010: I had a horrific accident in the kitchen that involved a knife, a finger and surgery.
2011: Uh…hello…London!!! 🙂

2011: I quit my job that was making me miserable and started my own health counseling business!

I hope that will be me next year 🙂 I just enrolled!
2010: After four years of being away from PA (the latter two of which we were together), Scott moved back to PA and in with me! 😀
1985: I was born AND Super Mario Brothers debuted. A pretty good year if you ask me 😉
2009: Started my blog and have made SO many wonderful relationships since!
2011: I bought a condo with my bf and became a cert. yoga teacher!
1991: I found out there was no Santa Clause 😦
Im going to do this too! I remember those books. I got in so much trouble rushing through school work to read in class…
It’s amazing how many of these I can relate to…BSC…Felicity…and Galveston, too– that’s where I learned to swim!
2009: I became a Mommy!
I feel the same way about all my pre-teen books! BSC, Sweet Valley Twins, all of them. Sold them to Half-Price Books for $20. What was wrong with me??
1986: i was born
1990: i cracked my chin open and had to have 9 stitches
1992: Hurricane Andrew hit, and my sister almost blew out of the Hilton lobby when the glass broke
1993: Met my crush in 1st-2nd grade… i ended up having a crush on and off until senior year of high school
1996: I sat on a pair of scissors ( it’s an awesome story)
2005: my sweet, sweet papa red passed away
2009: I got my first tattoo and started LPN school
2011: I graduated from LPN School, moved to Austin, and got my first big girl job!
2000 – Moved out of state for grad school. Fantastic decision.
2001 – Got engaged.
2002 – Married, graduated from grad school, moved to MN, started my first job (BIG year)
2003- Bought first home
2004- First promotion.
2005- Hello motherhood – daughter was born
2006- Became a working mom.
2007 – Left MN for TX
2008 – Had a little boy, became a stay-home mom
2009 – Back to work, awful time, moved to San Antonio and stayed home again
2010 – Nice, calm year, well, as calm as life with two young kids can be
2011 – Daughter started kindergarten, will likely be the year we get a dog.

2012: I’m hoping to move to Austin!
I loved the Babysitter’s Club books too. I also had the movie on VHS.
