do you ever

August 16, 2011

Do you ever wonder…

  • why 9:00am-12:00pm seems to go much faster then 12:00-4:00pm?
  • why coffee always sounds good with breakfast food but not with dinner food?
  • why women cry more than men do?
  • why food tastes better when eaten off pretty dishes?
  • why the New England Patriots are always good? Every. single. year.
  • why unloading the dishwasher is such a pain in the ass even though it really doesn’t take long to do?
  • why when kids play sports today they don’t keep score?
  • why red dye #40 is banned in Europe but perfectly acceptable in the US?
  • why it costs more for me to fly to NYC than it would for me to fly to Cancun?
  • why I can’t get pregnant even though I am trying like a rabbit? ha!
  • why my husband can eat 5,000 calories a day and still lose weight?
  • why guys like boobs so much?
  • why jeans with holes in them cost more than jeans that not ripped up?
  • why people actually think they will find their soulmate on The Bachelor/The Bachelorette?
  • why some people like Tom Cruise?
  • why Whole Foods is so proud of their products?
  • why peanut allergies are so much more common today than 20 years ago when I was a kid?
  • why anyone can have children but to adpot a child takes an entire investigation into your personal and financial life?
  • why twitter and facebook are so addicting?
  • why you always want what you don’t have until you get it?

You don’t wonder about any of this? Huh. It must just be me.

Yes, I wonder some of those and many others too. 🙂

Cute post! I definitely wonder about many of those too!

I wonder about many of those things too. Hope today is better for you!

‘Trying like a rabbit’- lol!! You are too funny 🙂
    Totally agree about the dishwasher!
And I wonder about the allergy stuff too- and also why certain things like IBS and Crohn’s disease seem to be popping up everywhere. I feel like everyone has stomach issues- gluten free, dairy free, etc. I just wonder what’s causing all of it- since our parents generation never had all of these issues.

The morning definitely goes much quicker than the afternoon…especially at work! Ugh!

Why Vienna wasn’t voted out of Bachelor Pad last night? Her and Kasey are the worst!

    • August 16, 2011 10:00 am

Agreed! I personally think that Vienna is not very pretty but her personality is SO awful that it makes her even more unattractive! But how cute was Ames running after Jackie?? Love him!

I wonder abut so many of those especially the adoption process. It enrages me how much some people who want a child have to go through while others just pop them out and don’t care about them or shouldnt be. I still go with the notion that you should have to have a license to have a child.

Love this post! Ugh, emptying the dishwasher – totally with you on that one! I have to give myself a peptalk to say that it will only take 5 minutes to do so just SUCK IT UP. I still hate it haha

haha this is a very good list! I wonder many of these myself. Red dye is one of many things that Europeans don’t find in their food. That is why their food tastes better because it’s fresh and not filled with *stuff* to make it last longer! Also, I totally don’t get the Whole Foods thing either. Trader Joe’s and Wegmans beat them out in my book 🙂

    • August 16, 2011 4:04 pm

We don’t have Trader Joes! 😦 But we do have The Natural Grocer and they are awesome! SUCH GOOD PRICES!

  11. August 16, 2011 9:56 am

I totally could have written this list myself. ESPECIALLY the first bullet!

  12. August 16, 2011 9:59 am

I LOVE THIS! I, too, often wonder why the Patriots are good every year! Haha!

    • August 16, 2011 10:01 am

So frusterating!!! Especially being a Colts fan.

  13. August 16, 2011 10:17 am

Unloading the dishwasher is probably as bad as putting away laundry. It makes no sense because it takes like 2 minutes, but I still hate it.

  14. August 16, 2011 11:05 am

As a lifetime Pats fan, I can attest that there was a time when they weren’t so good! But I’m sure glad they are now 🙂

LOVE this post! I wonder these things too..I have a couple explanations for a few:

-You are closer to Cancun living in Texas than you are to NYC hence a cheaper plane ticket
-Europe is more conscientious of environmental/food hazards than the U.S.–boo!! 😦
-I think Facebook is addicting because it keeps us connected and it’s a form of gossip!!
-I’m with you on the peanut allergy explanation…I’m thinking it has to do with more exposure..parents are so afraid their kids will have a reaction they don’t expose them..awareness possibly too..and some weird environmental reason I’m sure..

All the others–I don’t get them either!! Esp. w/ Tom Cruise (can’t stand him!) and how so many people who may not want kids get pregnant so easily, but those who want them so badly have trouble..adoption shouldn’t be as expensive–esp. for Chinese baby girls–that’s who I want to adopt 🙂

Nope, it’s not just you. Soooo many questions – so few answers…

I often wonder why people haven’t realized Tony Romo is overrated. My dislike of the Cowboys is obvious, but even if he was on another team and performed the same, I’d feel exactly the way I do. He’s not an awful QB, but I don’t think he has done as much as other QBs that get less attention. I don’t wonder about the boob thing, though, bc I have no butt so if guys preferred only that I’d be screwed!!

    • August 16, 2011 3:04 pm

HAHA! Best comment ever! My husband is a huge Cowboy fan (he’s from Dallas) and you being from Philly I can see why you aren’t! ha! But YES Romo is such an overrated QB. I have had this same conversation with my husband time and time again. Of course it doesn’t hurt that my team of choice is the Colts and with a QB like Peyton it is hard to find fault! 🙂

Yeah, I wonder about that stuff. I also wonder why certain articles of clothing just seem to be stain magnets, no matter what I do.

    • August 16, 2011 4:05 pm

Yeah like white….no matter what anytime I wear white I always have some kind of stain on it by the end of the day. Never fails.

  19. August 16, 2011 4:49 pm

hahaha I loved this. So true!

I used to be allergic to red dye #40 and then grew out of it. Strange?

  20. August 16, 2011 7:21 pm

The 9am- 12pm speed gets me all the time…that’s my favorite time of day – why can’t it last longer?!

  21. August 16, 2011 10:06 pm

Why some people who are such awful parents can have 5 kids (that they neglect) and really good people who would be really good parents can’t conceive is one of the big ‘what the heck’ questions for me. ps – I know this is totally unsolicited, but a friend of mine and her husband started this site: http://www.myadoptionadvisor.com/

  22. August 17, 2011 6:23 am

I wonder about the boobs thing, too. It’s like, “dude… you breast fed off of your mom and here you are oogling over mine (or someone else’s bc mine are small). There’s something sick and disturbing about this.”

  23. August 18, 2011 3:38 pm

Ha, I have lived that adoption process. Not only was I adopted myself, but my husband and I adopted our baby girl. The reference letters, background checks, etc, etc. Yet, the same week we came home with our daughter, someone had left a newborn in a dumpster outside of a highschool here. UGH!!!
