do you believe in ghosts?

I loved reading all your confessions yesterday some of them were quite funny (cough Heather cough cough) and a lot of you had some great tips on finding deals from Antropologie. (yay!)

Today I wasnt to talk about ghosts. Seriously. Do you believe in them? I think I kinda do. I have had a few random and weird experiences that have pushed me over the believing edge. I truly believe I lived in a haunted house in college. I am convinced. That house was creeeepy! It had a bad energy from the very first night we (me plus my two roommates) slept there. Something just always felt a little off and uncomfortable. As time went on certain questionable things happened.

Let’s start from the beginning and build up. Minor things happened first. Like doors would just randomly close. I would be in my bedroom and the door would just shut. Not slam but just shut like someone had come up to it and pulled it closed. This would happen when I was home alone. A little odd. Or one night while lying in bed looking up at the ceiling the fan started moving. It looked like someone had just come up there and hit the fan hard making is spin. Then it would just gradually stop. Those were the only two things that ever happened in my room.

But the freakiest and most terrified I ever was one night in the very middle of the night. My roommate woke up and thought she saw someone walking out of her room. She assumed it was either me or my other roommate. She got up, woke me up and asked me if I had just been in her room. I hadn’t. I had been asleep. So together we walked down the hall to our other roommate’s room and woke her up. She was asleep to and claimed not to have been in anyone’s room. Well being three single girls living alone…we kinda started freaking out. We were all three on top of my roommates bed when her cell phone started ringing. We all three jumped and no one wanted to get up to answer the phone. It stopped ringing and immediately started ringing again. Finally we looked at the cell phone only to discover that the incoming number was our own landline phone number from inside our own house. Holy crap…I have never been so scared in my entire life. We did end up getting out of bed and walking around the house only to discover every door and window was locked and no one was inside our house. No one. Freakiest thing ever.

Do you have your own personal ghost story?

Do you believe in ghosts?

Holy crap that is so freaky about the phone! This sounds like something that would be in a Lifetime movie! ahhhh. How did you fall back asleep after that incident?!

It was a crazy scary house. We ended up calling out boyfriends that night to come get us. I spent most of that year sleeping at his house.

Um, I would have peed my pants. That’s like that movie when a stranger calls.

I definitely believe in ghosts. Being from Louisiana…you kind of grow up understanding that New Orleans is a ghost-filled city! I had a history professor in college who told us a VERY scary personal ghost story one day during our class break– and she wasn’t the type to believe in anything supernatural!

When Keith and I went to New Orleans we went on the Ghost Tour…it was super interesting. You walked around the city and got to learn all about the history of certain places and buildings. Very cool and a little freaky.

I don’t think I believe in actual Casper the ghosts, but I DO believe there can be some sort of presence around at times. I’m a huge scaredy cat though so thinking about it too much freaks me out! 🙂

I 100% believe in ghosts! I have never had a personal experience myself, but my parents had one when they were visiting Gettysburg and walking around the battlefields. My mom just said that the air seemed to change and she heard yelling and just a lot of commotion. She was not right next to my dad, but looked over at him and he was just standing there, frozen, looking at her because he heard it too. They weren’t on a tour and were just walking around alone so other than a few distant tourists, there was no one around them.

Your story is so creepy, but I totally love it because I love ghost stuff! 🙂

That’s the scariest thing ever. I would have peed my pants and cried at the same time.

The door to my room closes itself all the time. I just tell myself it’s a draft or pressure difference. The other incident is freaky; I probably would have assumed it’s a serial killer, called 911 and jumped out a window. I used to believe in ghosts much more but now I’m a skeptic.

I totally believe in ghosts. My mom has had a few encounters, and Mom, Patty and I read too much stuff/watch too many specials to believe there’s nothing going on! I love it but at the same time if I’m alone I get totally freaked out.

Pretty sure I would have peed myself if that happened. I dont know if I believe in ghosts, but my mom does, and my Grandpa did (which is clearly where my mom gets it from).
I do have a very strange story though (a few actually, but I’ll just tell the one). My Grandpa was a very spiritual man. He was always super interested in the idea of ghosts, and all that stuff. He was a super hard worker, and died long before he should have. His company meant the world to him. For a week after he died, the motion detectors in the warehouse at his office went off every single night. They never went off once before that, and havent gone off since.

      OMG! That’s crazy!

    That is scary!

I do believe in ghosts but have not personally had an experience (that I am aware of!)

My friend totally believes she can see ghosts. Her stories are pretty creepy, too. One time, a lady told her that she has an aura about her that attracts them.

Thankfully, I’m without that aura you two seem to have. Such things make me nervous…

I definitely believe in ghosts! I had an experience in the catacombs in Paris and in January at a bed and breakfast in Maine! Your experience is SCARY… I wouldn’t want that to happen in my house!

Ooh…I went to the catacombs in Paris! I’m glad I didn’t have a ghost experience there!!

I definitely believe in ghosts! That wouldve made me pee my pants. Soooooo scary!! I’ve had a few things happen to make me believe. One was while at work my boss was telling us how random things happened to his sisters since their mom passed (cabinets opening, things getting moved) but not to him. So he was walking his dog & said mom give a sign you’re with me. And as soon as he passed under the street light, it went out. After he passed it, it went back on. As he was telling us this, all the lights in work turned off. I was quite freaked out lol.

y’know I never really thought about it…I think I think more about aliens and vampires 😉 (darn Twilight ruined my ability to have an imagination) 🙂

That is so scary!! I don’t know if I believe in ghosts, and I really don’t have any good stories. I actually never really thought about it!

One night when I was about 10, my purse made a slam against my door. My purse was on my doorknob, between the door and the wall. It was creepy. And my mom always claimed that she heard our piano playing in the middle of the night. Crazy stories. I try not to freak myself out too much!

Okay -I’ve got the chills now. I would have not been able to stay in that house.

There really was a haunted house in the BCS? I’m assuming it was in Bryan, since it’s older and all. Was it?

    • August 15, 2011 11:54 am

Yup…it was in Bryan near the golf course on a street called Tee St.(all the streets were named after golf type things) I literally spent most of that year at the boyfriend’s apartment and when our lease was up that May we promptly moved out.
