the royal wedding

April 29, 2011

Did you watch the Royal Wedding this morning? I did! Curiosity got the best of me and I am a that girl who is in love with weddings. I would love to be a wedding planner! Anyway, I know everyone has an opinion so here’s mine!

First up….THE DRESS! I liked it. It wasn’t my style or something I would have chosen for myself, but it looked wonderful on Kate. It was classy, appropriate and very elegant. I think I was expecting something more outlandish (media hype perhaps?) but I love this dress and the more pictures I see them more I like it.

Next: The Maid of Honor, Pippa. I will be honest. I don’t like the idea of doing white for anyone other than the bride. It just seems like an odd choice. But the dress itself was amazing and Pippa has a figure I might kill for.

And we can’t talk about a wedding without talking about the groom! I thought William looked so regal! Very prince-like!

The Ceremony: Loved it! I thought their vows were sweet and modern. I am really glad she refused to use the word “obey”. Go Kate! I also liked the little whispers between the couple and when William told Kate she looked beautiful I smiled so big! It was a sweet ceremony!

Prince William and Kate Middleton

THE KISS: I thought the first kiss was weak and I was glad that they followed it up with another one. I can’t imagine how daunting that would be to stand on that balcony in front of that crowd!! I read Kate’s lipped as she walked out and WOW was all she could say. I would have liked to see a little more of a kiss…but it was still sweet nonetheless.

It’s so ironic that I loved getting up to watch this one- because I’m not really big into the whole wedding/romance thing. Over the top cheesiness and romance often makes me uncomfortable. But this was classy and I loved it.

I usually am all into weddings but I felt like the media killed this one for me. I mean all we have been hearing for months is this Royal Wedding. I was almost over it before it even happened! But now that I saw it I loved it! I thought everything about it was timeless and dare I say…royal? 🙂

it’s soooo strange seeing something this “fairy-tale like/Disney story” wedding in our day and age, but it’s beautiful! I love both dresses, I agree on that 😀

I definitely watched! I think Kate and Pippa both looked amazing, however, I am with you on thinking that the dress would be more extravagant. Nonetheless, she looked very classic and regal and it think it suited her. I think back to the footage I watch of Charles’ and Diana’s wedding and I think it will be cool to look back on this one and say that I actually was able to watch it as it happened. 🙂

Well I heard that there were rules on the dress when marrying into the royal family. I heard that it had to be long sleeved and it had to cover the shoulders. So I think given those 2 constraints she did REALLY well on her dress. I will be interested to see her dress tonight at the reception. 🙂 I think Barbara Walter is doing a special on the reception tonight at 8:00. 🙂

I guess I need to go back and watch it! I am sure I can find it online somewhere!

I watched some clips on line just now, and I normally am not a big wedding person. I didn’t like her dress at all at first, but its growing on me. I read somewhere that its tradition for the maid of honor to wear white, and I ahve to say I liked Pippa’s dress better. And yes, i would kill for that body. 🙂

Pippa and Kate are just gorgeous — and yes they both have amazing figures. I loved her dress and I didn’t mind that Pippa wore white — although I’ve never seen that before!

I was so happy to watch this. There need to be more heartwarming news stories in the world. I thought the service was just OK. They all looked amazing. My favorite moment was when Kate was approaching the front and William turned around and saw her for the first time. That killed me.

Oh I totally got up to watch the wedding. Whats odd, is I didnt even set my alarm. I wasnt feeling well, so I figured if I woke up, awesome, but if not I’d live. Clearly I wanted to watch it because I woke up, turned on tv, and Kate was just walking through the doors. Perfect timing!
I LOVED her dress. Loved it.
All the choir singing though, I could have done without.

Yes, of course I watched the Wedding, after all I am European and I didn’t even have to get up early 🙂 I think she looked so beautiful and the wedding was a nice combination of old traditions and modern details.

I loved both dresses and think she looked beautiful! Their joy was just so evident on their faces- I loved that!

I loved it! Although, I think the vows were kind of bland…BUT, I think it’s only because they kind of had to have them that way because it is such a big event. Craig & I wrote our own…and I can’t wait to say them 🙂 Coming up quick! All of this wedding talk has me so excited 🙂

I finally got around to doing a post about it myself and agree with everything you said. Did you ever end up seeing her party dress? I loved it too!
