Thank you all so much for the fantastic birthday wishes. The enormous response on twitter, facebook and email was overwhelming. Again, thank you all so much!! Yesterday, in honor of my 30th birthday Keith put me through a 30X30 workout! 30 exercises all at 30 reps. (for those of you who are new readers…my husband is a fitness trainer and has been for almost 10 years!)
So without further ado…here is the 30X30 workout for any of you who want to do this: Remember every exercise is 30 reps and then move on the the next exercise. Everything is body weight unless otherwise noted.
30 flight of stairs: warm up
- push ups
- crunches
- pull ups (mine were assisted)
- hanging abs
- split jumps
- side planks (30 each side)
- Bosu squats (standing on the flat sides)
- russian twists on stability ball (30 each side)
- bar curls (I used a 35 pound bar)
- low plank – knees to elbows (30 total)
- tricep rope push down (I used 45 pounds)
- supine floor bridges
- medicine ball slams
- windshield wipers (30 total)
- dumbbell pistons (I used a 25 lb DB)
- hi plank – legs in and out
- bar goodmornings (I used 85 pounds)
- V-ups
- Dumbbell chest press (I used 20 pound DB’s)
- diver crunch
- reverse grip lat pull down (I used 50 pounds)
- ball twists
- bench dips
- Skaters (30 each way)
- Step ups (30 each leg)
- TRX supermans
- reverse lunges (30 each leg)
- suicide planks
- static lunge with medball hi-lo toss (30 each leg)
- bird dogs

Intense. I probably couldn’t do 30 sets of any of those exercises!
What are: suicide planks? bird dogs?

Damn. This looks amazing… and hard! I’m definitely trying this one! Tomorrow! And I’ll report back… I may even have one of my clients give this a go. mwahahaha!

I did a 10 minute warm up on the bike and then the workout took me about 50 minutes.
But we were moving! 🙂
My husband did it with all his clients too and they (aside from hating me) did it in about an hour. But they didn’t do the bike warm up…they started on the stairs.
