glitz and glamour and fashion…oh my!
Today’s guest post comes from one of my dearest friends, Allena. I have known Allena since high school! We were college roommates and she was the matron of honor in m wedding! She is a blast and I definitely reccomend reading her blog!

Hey y’all, it’s Allena from A Gurley Gurl! I am so honored that Kelly asked me to guest blog for her while she’s touring jolly ole England. I’ve known Kelly for over 15 years… All the way back to our high school track days – matching hair ribbons and everything. So needless to say, I love Kelly to pieces. {grin}
A little bit about myself – I am in my early 30s, married to my high school sweetheart with the most adorable 2 year old ever. I work as an Accountant but find my passions leaning more towards my ‘hippie’ lifestyle as my hubs calls it – I am a cloth-diapering, baby-wearing, homeopathic kind of mama who also has a weakness for Chick-fil-A and chai lattes! Check me out here!
I may or may not have married this man just for his baby blues! Le sigh. Oh and that’s me in the picture too. Did you guess that?
See? I wasn’t lying! Cutest little boy ever!
A guilty pleasure of mine is my love of all things celebrity! I have a subscription to Us Weekly, watch E! News, peruse PerezHilton.com and Pink is the New Blog on a regular basis. But my favorite thing about celebrity watching? Award show fashion! With Sunday kicking off award season, Kelly and I thought it would be fitting to do a recap of the best and worst of the 2011 season – well my opinion of it anyway!
Last year, Mila Kunis was ‘Best Dressed’ hands down. She looked gorgeous at each awards show and seemed to get better with each dress. I especially loved how different each dress and hairstyle was.
Worst of the season was also a no-brainer. While I love Helena Bohnam Carter as Bellatrix LaStrange (holla to all you Harry Potter peeps!) and her role in ‘The King’s Speech’, I was not a fan of ANY of her outfit choices. Just weird. I don’t care how ‘unique’ you are – you can still put on a pretty dress.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I do love a man in a nice tuxedo. A few of my current faves include Ryan Gosling (Have you seen ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’? I recapped it here, and let me tell you, Ryan G. looks delish.), Marky Mark (a personal favorite since his Calvin Klein days), Batman, Chris Hemsworth (For my thoughts on Thor, go here. In a word? Yum.) and Alexander Skarsgaard (If you aren’t watching ‘True Blood’, you are missing out!).
I honestly could have put about a million more pictures but decided to add just a few more favorites. Interestingly enough (or not – whatever), I
ended up with all metallic dresses. Lea Michele (I am a HUGE Gleek), Claire Danes, Amy Adams, and Anne Hathaway.
And lastly for the 2011 award season, Kelly and I do have one thing in common that you might find a little unusual. Our love (or you might say obsession) with 2 certain women. So who better to put together than our girlfriends. Mariska Hargitay and Keri Russell, Allena and Kelly’s true loves.
If you want to come visit me and hear my thoughts on the latest awards show, come visit me here! Thanks for reading!

Helena seems to always look so strange — she is married to Tim Burton so maybe that explains it?
Oh I totally agree! When you see the two of them together it starts to make sense.
