Wow…that was a good week! Thank you to everyone who helped me and wrote guests posts for me. You guys rock!!

Now about that London trip. I am going to start by saying that I am not one of those bloggers who breaks down her vacation day by day and draws out the recap over several posts. It just aint me…because honestly you weren’t there so do you really want to read multiple posts about my vacation? Exactly. So let’s hit the highlights.

First, the trip was amazing and London is an awesome city. I would venture to say that I could totally live there (assuming I could get used to the tiny flats they live in…wow). But everyone was so nice and helpful and it was just a lovely city.

So first here are some pictures from all the famous destinations in London. Everything took my breath away!

WestMinister Abbey

Big Ben with The London Eye in the background

Kensington Palace

Standing outside the Tower of London

Buckingham Palace

Harrods (of course!)

Notting Hill

My two favorite things we did were see a musical, Billy Elliot. AMAZING!

And shopping at the outdoor Portobello Market in Notting Hill!

Plus figuring out the underground subway system (the tube) was fun. Remember, I live in Texas, we don’t have public transportation like that!

We also visited a slew of museums! We did the Vicotria Albert, the British Museum, the Tate Modern and the Tower of London where we got to see the Crown Jewels (no pictures were allowed though!)

At the British Museum we got to see the already designed 2012 London Summer Olympic Games gold medals on display! That was very cool!

And I got to hold the Olympic Torch at Madam T’s Wax Museum…ahahah!

The other hard part was that everyone drives on the other side of the road. So crossing the street was confusing at times because I didn’t know which way to look! Thankfully those Brits got it figured out!

Overall the trip was amazing. It was the best 30th birthday present my mom could have ever given me (don’t freak out my birthday was in April…you didn’t miss it! haha) and I honestly can’t wait to go back with Keith one day!

I’m SO glad you had such a good time– London is amazing!! I’ve been there a few times, but only for a few days each time, so I’ve always wanted to go for longer and really explore the city.

    Welcome home, Kelly!!

It looks like you had an absolutely amazing time!!! I’ve been to London a few times, but only for a few days each time, so I’ve always wanted to go for longer and really explore the city. I’m glad you had such a great trip!!

    Welcome home 🙂

It’s bizarre seeing you in so many layers – being cold still seems so foreign. 🙂

Your trip looks wonderful! Did you get to have tea with Princess Kate? I’m sure she’s just available for cool Austin bloggers at a moment’s notice.

    Enjoy your reunion with Keith!

It wasn’t terrible…the highs were between 68-72 and the lows were in the 50’s. It was a nice break from this 100 degree heat. Coming home was a bit of a shock! 🙂

Loved the pictures you posted here — you and your Mom have the same smile — although I’m sure you have heard that a million times.

I hope to visit London one day, it looks like a beautiful place to see.

I’m glad you had such a good time. I’m terrified of airplanes, but London is definitely one of the few places I’d face that fear for. I would love to go there one day.

Yeah the plane ride wasn’t exactly wonderful…9 hours and 40 minutes…but the flight was fine…just LONG!!!!

Yay glad you had a great trip and thank you for not taking two weeks to recap, haha.

    • September 28, 2011 10:38 am

Personally, I can not stand that when bloggers do one week recaps of all the things they did. I usually end up not reading them so I knew I was going to keep mine short and sweet!

what an awesome trip, I definitely plan on making it to London some day. And agreed with Kelly, love that you kept it a reasonable recap 😉

Hooray! So glad you had fun with your mama…I bet it was SO fun just hanging out with her – I would love to do something like that with my mom. Glad you made it back safely!

So glad you had a great trip. I’ve wanted to go for a long time. What a great experience to share with your mom. That’s the ultimate girls weekend;)

Love your SHORT & sweet recap- PERFECT 😀
I usually get annoyed with those crazy long recaps as well..the only time I did a super long one was for my wedding & honeymoon.
Gorgeous pictures & looks like such a fun time 🙂
